The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Gates Cambridge Scholarship programme is meant to help outstanding international students who aspire to pursue full-time postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge.
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship programme was established in October 2000 and a total of 80 scholarships are awarded under this category every year. The programme was established with the help of a $210 million donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Around two-thirds of the scholarship amount is offered to PhD students.
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of study for talented and bright applicants from countries outside the UK. The fuly-funded postgraduate degree can be done in any area of study available at the University of Cambridge.
Eligibility Criteria to Receive the Gates Cambridge Scholarship
The minimum eligibility criteria to receive the Gates Cambridge Scholarship is as follows:
The student must have extraordinary intellectual ability.
The student must demonstrate the reasons for choosing a particular course of study.
The student must demonstrate leadership qualities.
The student must be committed to improving the lives of others.
The applicant must be a citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom.

How to Apply for Gates Cambridge Scholarship?
Applicants can apply for the scholarship through the University’s Graduate Application Portal. They must fill in the complete application form and submit it before the deadline.
The deadline for 2021 session is January 7, 2021.
