Can you share your experiences? Jiten PradhanStudied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2020) The correction staff of JNTU Hyderabad is very careless and has ruined the lives of many ambitious students. One of my friends shared his experiences of studying there. He was very adamant about getting good scores and studying hard in the first year. Despite that, he scored average marks around 68%. In fact, everyone around him got similar marks. Many got demotivated, and many even left while some decided to attempt exams without any preparations and surprisingly got similar results. Despite it all, he decided to give himself a second chance and studied more rigorously in the second year but the results were similar. This destroyed his ambitions and dreams so he finally gave up in the 3rd and 4th year and decided to enjoy his college life instead. He later realized that students who were deliberately marked failed to earn more exam fees which in turn was used in improving the infrastructure. This tactic ruined so many lives and it became very challenging to get an interview call from an MNC due to poor scores. I hope this situation is taken care of as soon as possible so that the lives and dreams of students can be saved! ...Read More 0 0 Is there an option to leave two subjects in JNTUH? Hirdekh JainStudied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2016) Yes,JNTUH has an option of leaving 2 subjects. But that does not mean you don’t have to appear for the exams in these subjects. It’s just that these two subjects are spared from being included in the final grade calculation. Sayantani Barman Sai Kumar DhillonStudied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2016) As per the new R-09 and R-13 regulations, JNTUH students won't be getting a distinction for each and every subject. Once their 4th-year 2nd Semester results are out, a Consolidated Marks Memo(CMM) will be issued to them. This CMM includes all their semesters' subjects and respective marks. This Memo will also include the marks of the 2 excluded subjects, the marks of which will not be included in the final result. In JNTUH, calculating your grade is quite easy. Grades are calculated on the basis of the percentage calculated on the score that you have secured in all the semesters combined to the total mark of 5250. Students are graded as follows Those who have secured a 69.5% and above get “First Class with Distinction”. Those who have secured between 59.5% and 69.5% get “First Class”. This process continues further for subsequent percentages. However, the procedure might be different if you are following the R-16 regulations. Under the new grading system, you can check your Subject Performance Standards like Outstanding, Excellent, etc. You can also see this SGPA which stands for Sessional/Semester Grade Point Average which can be converted in percentage format. Additionally, there will be a CGPA which is calculated as such CGPA=(SGPA1+SGPA2+.....+of all semester)/(SCP1+SCP2+.....+of all semesters) Here, SCP stands for Sessional/Semester Credit Points set to all subjects. Overall, students getting 6.95 and above in their CGPA/OGPA, will be given distinction along with First Class, O, A+, A, any other grade, etc. ...Read More 0 0 I have a choice of joining JNTUH or CBIT this year. It's a way you can easily pass the subjects based on your convenience throughout the full time of the course. You won’t get any stars in your memo but you will have a memo for each supplementary you write. The individual memos help you in applying to foreign universities. For other applications, you require a Consolidated Marks Memo which can be easily obtained after clearing all papers. These memos have stars even if you pass in all subjects. Don’t apply for revaluation if the supplementary exams for the same subject are to be held in less than 2 1/2 months. So you have to study all the subjects and appear for their respective exams. Ultimately when the result of your final semester exams is out, you can leave two subjects in which you have backlogs. For this, you will have to fill out the form beforehand. Also, this is subject to certain conditions such as These 2 subjects should be non-technical The credit value of these 2 subjects should be equivalent to 8. In such case case, you don’t have a single back, then non-technical subjects having the least value are removed automatically. The final percentage is calculated after removing these subjects only. ...Read More 0 0 How many marks do we need to get a distinction in JNTUH? Aishwarya ShastriLives in Hyderabad A close friend of mine is currently pursuing an integrated program at JNTU and is not at all pleased with its standard of education. He stated a few points that clarified his stance further Majority of the subjects are taught by lecturers and not the actual professors. They have no interest in teaching and teach only a handful of subjects and leave the rest to untrained and underqualified lecturers. Introduction of new courses like IDP, IDDMP, IIDDMP is greatly affecting the quality of education. The high batch size affects the student-teacher ratio and the limited resources cannot be availed by everyone. JNTU 5-year course placements are very poor. CBIT has better companies than JNTU that offer better packages and opportunities. JNTU has a better location than CBIT which is in a remote location and has limited outside life. JNTU has no transport facilities so this might be a major obstacle throughout your program. Faculty: Course Curriculum Overview:Materials and Metallurgical engineering is the one best engineering subject to go deeper into metals section compare to critical subjects if u love and get involved in subject u will clear this subject easily and u have good scope in doing masters and doctorate in this subject . Here most of the faculty have docterate on their specific specialization they have plenty knowledge on the subject . Exams held in timely terms though we have 3 mid internal exams which for 20 marks each and one final exam which is for 80 marks . Here we go through basics of the subject Teachers take care of little bit also so u won't find difficulty
