Established in 1873, Vanderbilt University is a private university situated in Nashville, Tennessee. The university is affiliated with the nonprofit Vanderbilt University Medical Center and accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Vanderbilt University is a 340.7-acre park-like campus, located in the heart of Nashville city, Tennessee. It has a total of 179 buildings including 10 schools offering a wide range of courses that comprises 70 undergraduate major programs and graduate programs and professional courses in the fields of engineering, arts and sciences, music, education and human development, business, medicine and more. The state-of-the-art laboratories, athletic facilities, health and wellness centres are some of the services available on the university campus that help in the overall development of students. Vanderbilt is also home to over 300 tree and shrub varieties and was recognised as an arboretum in 1988.
