Founded in 1967, Georgian College is a College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ontario, Canada. The institution was one of the colleges established during the formation of Ontario's college system in 1967. Twelve of its co-op programs have been accredited by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education (CAFCE). Three of its health programs were given high accreditation ratings. Canada's Public Health Agency accredited its Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician programs.  The Pharmacy Technician program is accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP).

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Georgian College has seven campuses in various areas across Ontario, encompassing an area of 21,000 sq km. Barrie Campus is the largest campus and is home to a library, Athletic and Fitness Centre, Peter B. Moore Advanced Technology Centre, Indigenous Resource Centre, Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre, Centre for Changemaking, and Social Innovation. The other campuses are Downtown Barrie campus, Owen Sound Campus, Robbert Hartog Midland Campus, Muskoka Campus, Orangeville Campus, and Orillia Campus, and South Georgian Bay Campus. All the campuses have state-of-the-art infrastructure and provide students with an environment that encourages fast and efficient learning.

Georgian College provides more than 130 industry-oriented programs in various areas of education such as automotive business, management, computer studies, tourism, liberal arts, human services, indigenous studies, skilled trades, community safety, design, visual arts, health, engineering, environmental technologies, sciences, hospitality, and marine studies. 

Accomplishments & Alumni 

The massage therapy program at Georgian College received a score of 99% by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council. Georgian College has more than 75,000 alumni across the world, including many who have successfully made their mark in the industry. Notable alumni include the vice-president of Image Dental Laboratory, Ali Khonsari, owner and founder of Quench Buggy, Darryl Hindle, Women's Snowboard Federation's co-founder Eve Northmore. Photographer Don Komarechka, Tara Andrews of Beyond Buoyancy Aquatics. Nicole Saulnier of Georgian Bay Airways Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery and many more.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

The college houses over 13,000 students, including 3,600 foreign students belonging to 85 countries across the world. The college has an average class size of 26 students and grants scholarships and bursaries of more than 2.5 million dollars annually. The institution has a nearly perfect gender ratio with 1.08 women for every male student. Top organizations where the alumni work include Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Walmart, Bruce Power, RBC, Honda of Canada Mfg., Scotiabank, Magna International, CIBC, and BMO Financial Group.
