To be eligible to take admission to the MBA programme offered by IIM Calcutta, a candidate must meet the requirements set by the institute. The eligibility criteria for the MBA programme at IIM Calcutta can be found given below.
Candidate must have completed his graduation in any stream from a recognized university / institute.
Candidates who are studying in the final year of their bachelor's degree course are also eligible to apply for admission to IIMC. However, such candidates will be given provisional admission on the condition that the candidate clears the qualifying examination before June 30, 2021.
Candidate must have a minimum aggregate score of 50% in their graduation.
Reserved category candidates are provided relaxation and require a 45% minimum aggregate marks in graduation.
In case the degree-awarding has a CGPA system of grading, IIMC considers the equivalent percentage as calculated by the procedure of the awarding institution. If there is no such procedure in the institution, IIMC follows its own procedure of calculating the equivalent percentage from a candidate's CGPA.
IIM Calcutta shortlists candidates on the basis of the CAT score and academic score. There is a different criterion to evaluate performance at every level. There are two stages of evaluating the performance of candidates and based on these, the final selection is done. IIM Calcutta result announcement is expected to be in May second week.

A cutoff is determined for the composite score and it is then used to shortlist students for PI. The shortlisted students will be invited to appear for the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

ADFB: IIM Calcutta also awards points for Academic Diversity at Bachelor’s Level. This will depend on the course that the candidate has pursued at the graduation level. Following are the degrees that will be awarded ADFB advantage: BA, BA(H), B.Sc., B.Sc.(H), BS, B.Com, B.Com(H), BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, LL.B, MBBS, BDS or any other non-engineering bachelor’s degree that has not been mentioned in this list. For all other courses, zero ADFB weights are awarded.

Only those candidates who have a managerial level of work experience after graduation are awarded points.
