    Final Bachelor's degree level exams:

    Students who wish to apply to the various post-graduate courses at IIM Kolkata can do so only if they have secured a minimum percentage of 55% in aggregate marks.

    Final Master’s degree level exams: 

    The marks received in the final exam for the master’s level course in the respective domain is given a lot of importance for the various IIM Kolkata PGDM courses, and the minimum aggregate score that is to be received is 55%. 

    IIM Calcutta MBA Eligibility Criteria 2021

    To be eligible to take admission to the MBA programme offered by IIM Calcutta, a candidate must meet the requirements set by the institute. The eligibility criteria for the MBA programme at IIM Calcutta can be found given below.

    • Candidate must have completed his graduation in any stream from a recognized university / institute.

    • Candidates who are studying in the final year of their bachelor's degree course are also eligible to apply for admission to IIMC. However, such candidates will be given provisional admission on the condition that the candidate clears the qualifying examination before June 30, 2021.

    • Candidate must have a minimum aggregate score of 50% in their graduation.

    • Reserved category candidates are provided relaxation and require a 45% minimum aggregate marks in graduation.

    • In case the degree-awarding has a CGPA system of grading, IIMC considers the equivalent percentage as calculated by the procedure of the awarding institution. If there is no such procedure in the institution, IIMC follows its own procedure of calculating the equivalent percentage from a candidate's CGPA.

    IIM Calcutta MBA Selection Criteria 2021

    IIM Calcutta shortlists candidates on the basis of the CAT score and academic score. There is a different criterion to evaluate performance at every level. There are two stages of evaluating the performance of candidates and based on these, the final selection is done. IIM Calcutta result announcement is expected to be in May second week.

    Stage 2: Evaluation of shortlisted candidates on the basis of composite scores

    Composite scores are calculated on the basis of CAT score, Class 10 and 12 board aggregate percentages along with gender diversity factor.

    A cutoff is determined for the composite score and it is then used to shortlist students for PI. The shortlisted students will be invited to appear for the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

    Stage 3: Criteria for Final Selection for the MBA Programme

    For the candidates appearing in Stage II, a composite score for final selection will be derived using the parameters and the corresponding weights listed in the table provided bellow. This composite score will be used for the preparation of category-wise merit list.

    IIM Calcutta MBAEx Eligibility Criteria 2021

    Candidates interested in taking admission to the Executive MBA programme at IIM Calcutta must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below.

    • Candidate must have completed a 3-year bachelor's degree course (10 + 2 + 3 years of formal education) in any stream.

    • Minimum 5 years of professional or managerial experience is required after the completion of the bachelor's degree programme as on May 31 of the year of application.

    • Candidates are required to have a valid GMAT scorecard. GMAT score must not be older than 36 months than the date of application.

    IIM Calcutta MBAEx Selection Criteria 2021

    The selection of candidates for the Executive MBA course at IIM Calcutta is based upon the several factors listed below. Candidates must note that even though GMAT score is required for MBAEx admission at IIMC, there is no minimum GMAT score required for admission.

    IIM Calcutta PGDBA Eligibility Criteria 2021

    The eligibility criteria for admission to the PGD Business Analytics course offered by IIMC can be found given below.

    • Candidates must have completed their graduation or postgraduation in any stream from a recognized university. (i.e. must have 10+2+3/10+2+4/10+2+5 years of formal education.)

    • Candidates in the final year of the qualifying course are also eligible to apply provided that they complete all of their programme requirements before May 31 of the year of application and submit the final mark sheet before October 31 of the same year.

    • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (out of 10) in their qualifying course (55% score or 6.5 CGPA is required for SC / ST / PwD candidates).

    IIM Calcutta PGDBA Application Process 2021

    Candidates interested in understanding how to apply to the PGDBA course at IIMC can refer to the process given below.

    1. Register as a 'New User' on the official online application portal of the PGDBA course.

    2. Submit the required personal information and contact information required at the time of registration.

    3. Login using the selected User ID and Password and start an application.

    4. Enter all of the required information carefully to ensure accuracy and correctness. The application may be rejected if wrong information is entered.

    5. Submit the supporting documents required with the online application.

    6. Pay the application fee for the PGDBA course using a debit card, credit card or net banking. The application fee is Rs. 2000 for unreserved category candidates and Rs. 1000 for SC / ST / PwD candidates.

    IIM Calcutta Final Selection Process 2021 for PGP-PGDM:

    There are various components that are considered for shortlisting candidates that will be admitted to the PGP and PGDM courses offered by IIM Calcutta. Following are the components based on which a candidate’s performance is evaluated:

    ADFB: IIM Calcutta also awards points for Academic Diversity at Bachelor’s Level. This will depend on the course that the candidate has pursued at the graduation level. Following are the degrees that will be awarded ADFB advantage: BA, BA(H), B.Sc., B.Sc.(H), BS, B.Com, B.Com(H), BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, LL.B, MBBS, BDS or any other non-engineering bachelor’s degree that has not been mentioned in this list. For all other courses, zero ADFB weights are awarded.

    Work Experience: Maximum 4 points are awarded for work experience that depends on the duration of service. Only those candidates who have a managerial level of work experience after graduation are awarded points. Training/ Project work/ work done as part of the curriculum is not considered under work experience component.

    The selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit in each category that is calculated based on the above-mentioned parameters. 

    IIM Calcutta PGPEx-VLM Eligibility Criteria 2021

    PGPEx-VLM programme at IIMC is offered by the institute under a joint initiative with IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. The programme aims to create leaders in the manufacturing sector and develop the managerial skills of candidates who have sound technical knowledge.

    The eligibility criteria for admission to the PGPEx-VLM course is given below.

    • Candidate must have a first-class undergraduate or postgraduate degree in engineering. It is recommended that the candidate gain this degree from a leading engineering institution.

    • Candidate must have scored First Class / First Division marks from Class 10th.

    • Minimum 4.5 years of work experience is required in a full-time position after the completion of the qualifying course.

    • Candidate must have a valid GMAT score.

    IIM Calcutta PhD Eligibility Criteria 2021

    The eligibility of a candidate for admission to the Doctoral programme in management at IIMC is measured against the following guidelines.

    • A master's degree or a 2-year postgraduate diploma programme in any stream with First Class marks. In addition, the candidate must also have a bachelor's degree in any stream with minimum aggregate marks of 50%.


    • Candidate must have completed CA with minimum 50% marks.


    • CS / CMA course with 55% minimum marks along with a B.Com degree.


    • A B.Tech or any 4-year degree with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or equivalent score.
    • Candidates with a non-engineering degree are also considered eligible for the programme provided that they have completed a minimum of 10+2+5 years of formal education.
    • Candidate must have a minimum aggregate score of 50% in Class 10th / Class 12th (Secondary / Higher Secondary Exam) from a recognized board.
    • IIMC also considers candidates studying in the final year of a bachelor's degree course in engineering or a master's course in any stream eligible to apply for the doctoral programme. Such candidates are required to complete all of their programme requirements before June 30 of the year of applications. Plus, all of the supporting documents are required to be submitted before December 31 of the same year.

    IIM Calcutta PhD Entrance Exams 2021

    Admission to the doctoral programme at IIMC is based upon the marks scored by a candidate in the CAT exam. However, depending upon the choice of specialization of the candidate, test scores from the following exams may also be accepted:

    • GMAT

    • GRE

    • GATE

    • UGC-JRF in one of the fixed disciplines related to the chosen specialization.
