AL-Kabir Polytechnic (popularly known as alkabir polytechnic) was established in the year 1990. It is one of the first private institute, run by Kabir Welfare Society, situated in the steel city of Jamshedpur, the industrial heart of Jharkhand, India. The college is recognized by the State Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Jharkhand and approved by The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt. of India. The college provides three years of full-time diploma programs in engineering in various streams including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Automobile Engineering. The college campus is spread over an area of ten acres with all the modern facilities including classrooms, library, laboratory, drawing halls and workshop. It also provides separate hostel facilities for all the boys and girls.

Placement: On campus placement is good for mechanical and electrical branch.And for other branches we have to apply off campus.Many companies of tata group comes here for placement.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of college is good as compared to government polytechnic college of Jharkhand.It is semi-government college.Labs are nicely maintained.
Faculty: As I am from computer science engineering branch faculty members of computer science department are best for me.And some of the other faculty members are also good as we listened from other branch students.
Hostel: I am day scholar,so I do not know much about hostel but I have visited hostel to meet my friend who stays in hostel.From my observation I found senior boys hostel good.
