Amrita Sai Institute of Science & Technology (ASIST) was established by Amrita Sai Educational Improvement Trust in the year 2007. It was granted the status of "Autonomous Institution" by UGC, recognised under section 12(B) of the UGC act 1956.  Also, the institute is accredited with an "A" grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). ASIST is a self-funding institute approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and is permanently affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada with ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

As per the official website, the mission of the college is "To arm young brains with competitive technology and nurture holistic development of the individuals for a better tomorrow" with a vision of "striving for a symbiosis of technological excellence of human values". The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses to the students along with advanced B. Tech course for CSE students and specialised programmes (Open Electives) for non-CSE students.

The advanced B. Tech courses include big data analytics, IoT & cyber security inc blockchain, data science engineering, artificial intelligence & machine learning whereas, whereas specialised programmes include: cyber security, data analytics, cloud computing, web, and mobile development.

Two diploma courses in polytechnic, nine undergraduate courses in B.tech, and 8 postgraduate courses are offered by Amrita Sai Institute of Science & Technology to its students. Students after completion of their class 10th can opt for diploma courses and students after completion of their 12th in the science stream can opt for undergraduate courses at ASIST. 

However, to get admission to postgraduate courses candidates are required to complete their undergraduate as per their required course of eligibility.

There are two diploma courses in polytechnic, nine undergraduate courses in the b.tech, and eight postgraduate courses including one MBA, one MCA, one MHM, and five M.tech courses that are offered by Amrita Sai Institute of Science & Technology. The curriculum of each course is well-designed and job-oriented. B.tech courses like Computer Science Engineering, etc at ASIST are well updated to meet current industry requirement demands. ASIST admission procedure

Candidates must follow the given admission procedure by ASIST to get admission:

• Eligibility: Candidates must be passed in class 10th/ 12th/ given eligibility criteria for the course.
• Take entrance test: Candidates shall appear in entrance tests like APEAMCET for B.tech, APPOLYCET for polytechnic, APICET for MBA or MCA and APPGECET for M.tech. 
• Qualify entrance test: Candidates must qualify in any of the given entrance tests.
• Attending counselling sessions: Candidates shall attend the counselling session organised by the respective authorities.
• Opt for the desired course: Candidates after fulfilling the eligibility criteria, clearing entrance tests and attending a counselling session are supposed to opt for their desired course.
• Seat Allotment through counselling: Seats will be allotted to the students for their opted courses through counselling based on their performance in the entrance exam and choices filled.

Amrita Sai Institute of Science & Technology had a great tie-up placement with well-known companies like Yamaha, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, etc in the fields of Product Development and Tech Support. 381 placement offers were made in total, out of which 231 offers were belonging to Product Development and 150 offers were made for Tech Support.
