Assam University PhD Eligibility Criteria

To pursue a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree at Assam University Silchar, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria. Applicants should have a Master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA. However, a relaxation of 5% is provided for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled categories. Additionally, candidates must qualify in the university's entrance examination or any other national-level test such as UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET/JRF, or GATE. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, where their research aptitude and potential will be assessed. Successful candidates will be admitted to the Ph.D. program at Assam University Silchar.
