Assam University Admission 2023 Updates: JEE Main 2023 session 2 registration will be active till March 07, 2023. JEE Main 2023 session 2 will be conducted on April 06, 08,10, 11, and 12, 2023. JEE Main 2023 session 2 registration began on February 07, 2023. JEE Main 2023 session 1 result has been released. JEE Main 2023 session 1 was held on January 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31, and February 1, 2023. CUET 2023 exam will be held on May 21 to 31, 2023. NEET UG 2023 will be held on May 07, 2023. 

Admission to Assam University courses is based on the student's performance in the entrance test conducted by either national authorities or the university itself and PI. Assam University UG admission 2023-24 was based on Common University Entrance Test (CUET) except for the B.Tech programme which was based on JEE Main scores. Assam University admission process for PG, PhD, and diploma is based on the entrance test and PI conducted by the university itself. 

Assam University Silchar was established as a central university by an Act of the Parliament of India in 1994. The university comprises 16 schools of study, more than 50 departments, 6 interdisciplinary centres of study and 77 affiliated colleges.  Assam university was ranked 93rd in the NIRF ranking 2021 among overall universities. Assam University has published the lists of selected candidates through swapping for admissions to different courses at the Silchar and Diphu campus. The table below shows the lists published for different course admissions. 

The application process to Assam University is held online. After going through the relevant downloadables as specified with the links above, the candidates must register themselves to the official website of the login to receive time-to-time notifications from the University. The applicant may choose to study the "Programmes and Course" tab of the University's official website and its allied sections. The following are the steps that a candidate must follow for Assam University admission:

• For all admission-related queries, the applicant must log in to the following link; http://www.aus.ac.in/sidemenu/courses-admission/
• The applicant must select the desired course based on the self-assessment after studying the information brochure of the institute.
• The applicant must log in to the “Registration Login” page of the official homepage of the University’s official website. 
• The applicant needs to fill in the relevant details like; personal details, contact details, academic details, payment details and residential details. The documents that the candidate must keep with them include; UID documents, identity proof, mark sheets and certificates and passport-sized photographs. 
• The candidate must complete submitting their application form by submitting their application fees of Rs 500 via online payment.
• The procedure of application for CUET also remains the same.
• The candidates need to check online for the merit list for their admission status based on all the processes thus mentioned above. 

Assam University admissions are based on the Assam University cutoff. The overall merit list is prepared as per the weightage attributed by the candidates in their class 12 and their performance in the entrance exams. An overall weightage of 30% is given to the marks of the last academic examination degree and 70% weightage is attributed to the scores obtained by the performance of the applicants in the CUET. The cut-off marks and the merit list for admission to Assam University were released on the official website of the university on October 4,2021. The following table shows the merit list as per the approximate cut-off in the CUET, 2021. 

Assam University has made a remarkable mark for itself when it comes to successful job placements. On that note, the University has got its “Career Counselling cum placement Cell”. The cell ensures the complete training of its candidate from the enrollment stage to the offer letter stage. The cell is headed by reputed academicians, staff, and alumni that conduct a host of activities like; job networking, HR activities, campus information for recruitment, various kinds of job-related skill courses, and news and conducting webinars for various stages of training. 

The “Career Counselling cum placement Cell” conducts mock and examination rounds about job interviews like; group discussion, written tests, soft skills, personality development, computer skills and soft skills. Inspirational lectures and motivational activities are also imparted to the candidates to develop confidence. During the final stages of the training process, live sessions with previously placed candidates are also conducted to understand the pros and cons of subsequent interview processes. 

The “Career Counselling cum placement Cell” activities are separate from the admission process. Naturally, the announcement for the existing candidates begins by almost the end of April, when the students begin to enrol themselves for Assam University placement. Naturally, the cell also announced a host of activities such as job internships, minor projects, mega dissertations, hands-on-trainings, and skill visits. Any student, irrespective of their graduation, is made eligible to be a part of the placement cell and receive valuable training. The placement drive is conducted in different affiliated places of the institute and off-campus drives for multiple participation. Successful job placement is completed by November of every academic year.

When it comes to imparting quality education to its candidates, Assam University does not back off from providing financial assistance to worthy candidates that are otherwise economically weak or subjectified by the clauses of the government of India. The financial assistance is given in the form of scholarships, fellowships and various forms of waivers from the University, which are as follows:

Apart from the scholarship mentioned above programs, the various other Scholarship programs and financial assistance programmes that apply to the Assam University are as follows:

1. NSP Scholarships – This represents a category of the Prime minister’s scheme of Scholarship programs via the “National Student’s Portal” of the honourable government of India. Based on merit, at least 100 students are capable of availing of the programs per academic year. The Scholarship programs are meant for various un-reserved and reserved categories of candidates. 
2. P/M Scholarships – This scholarship category is also meant for SC-ST candidates. This scholarship is awarded in renewal and fresh applications to deserving students based on the candidates' academic performance. At least 150 candidates are capable of receiving this Scholarship worth Rs 3 Lakh to Rs 11 Lakh depending on the type of the course applied. 
3. RF Scholarships – This is the Rajiv Gandhi National scheme of Scholarships meant to uplift the SC-ST category of candidates. This scholarship is forwarded by the Ministry of Social Justice and empowerment and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The meritorious candidates can avail of a Scholarship value of up to Rs 6 Lakh throughout the course duration. At least up to 50 applicants can receive this scholarship.
