Outstation students who take admission to the college are extended the facilities of a college Hostel which is situated adjacent to the college premises. Messing in the Hostel is maintained on hygienic standards and boarders are required to observe the rules. Ragging is strictly prohibited. Fortunately, so far, there has been no untoward incidence.
Seats numbering 30 at present are allotted purely on the basis of necessity. The Principal is the ex-officio in-charge of the hostel which is run by supervisory staff under the superintendent. The hostel is provided with library and gym facilities, apart from the usual medium of entertainment and pastime in the common room. UGC has sanctioned funds for the construction of an additional Hostel for both UG and PG students where by the number of seats will go up to 50 from 30.
National Social Service (NSS) now regarded as the third dimension of education (the first two being teaching/learning and research), provides ample scope to teachers and students to engage in extension activities like social and community service. NSS Volunteers are allowed to participate in different programs like Orientation Program, Special Camping Program, National Integration Camps, Youth Exchange Camps, R.D. Camps etc. it offers them the opportunity to manifest their dedication and commitment towards society.
BKGC Eco Club was established in a joint collaboration with Pachim Banga Vigyan Mancha, a body actively engaged in enhancing scientific awareness throughout the state.
