CEPT Signs MoU with Nottingham Trent University - CEPT University and Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU, signifying the partnership between the two institutions, was presented during the ‘International Seminar: Research and Practice in Historic Places,’ held on Jul 24 at CEPT. This partnership is a step forward in strengthening academic and research engagement in the wider domain of cultural heritage. The MoU sets the framework for a range of collaborative activities, including the development of joint research capacities, supervision and examination of PhD students, staff and student mobility, knowledge exchange on research and teaching methodologies, and professional training development programmes. This agreement builds on a well-established track record of academic collaboration, including faculty and PhD student exchanges, reciprocal visits, and joint events, bringing together faculty, researchers, and practitioners from both institutions to share insights and advance interdisciplinary, cross-cultural knowledge. A key milestone in this journey has been the establishment of the Cultural Heritage Perspectives International Research Group—a joint collaborative network by NTU and CEPT. This group aims to foster joint research, expand scholarly dialogue, and serve as a dynamic open platform to coordinate, promote, and share research activities of its members and the wider network.
Book Talk: Living Together — More-Than-Human Ecologies for Architectural Thinking - Join us for a Book Talk on 'Living Together — More-Than-Human Ecologies for Architectural Thinking' by authors Sonal Mithal and Akshar Gajjar. The event will take place on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Sagra Basement, CEPT University. The book discusses collaborative architecture that includes the agency of plants and other species, advocating for a holistic vision in architectural practice. The talk will be followed by a conversation with moderator Melissa Smith. This event is open to all.

CEPT University was previously known as ‘Center for Environment, Planning & Technology’; established by the Ahmedabad Education Society (AES) with the support of the Government of Gujarat and the Government of India over 56 years ago in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Until 2002 the institute was autonomous and recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). From 2002 to 2005 it was affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University. You can't apply for the CEPT University B.Arch programme based on your JEE Mains Paper 2 scores as it doesn't accept them. The CEPT Ahmedabad accepts NATA scores to offer admission to its B.Arch programme. An applicant must meet the minimum qualifying scores in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) exam as specified by the Council of Architecture (CoA) for that particular year.
Along with that, the candidate must qualify for the CEPT University eligibility criteria for B.Arch. It includes passing Class 12 in a relevant stream with 45% marks or a three-year diploma in any stream with mathematics as a compulsory subject after Class 10.
