About UCEED 2024

The UCEED 3rd Round (Final Round) of Seat Allotment 3 is going to be done on 10 June 2023 by IIT Bombay. Candidates who are assigned seats in Round 3 must accept the seat and pay the seat acceptance fees before deadline. UCEED Seat Allotment 2023 PDF Important Information

IIT Bombay announced the Round 1 UCEED seat allocation on April 10, 2023. The list of chosen applicants for the BDes programmes at the IITs in Delhi, Bombay, Guwahati, Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur has been released. On March 14, 2023, the registration period for UCEED Counselling 2023 opened. Tere are three rounds of seat allocation for UCEED Counselling 2023. On May 10 and June 10 of 2023, respectively, the II and III rounds is held. On March 9, 2023, IIT Bombay released the UCEED Result 2023. Candidates can review the PDF provided below for all the important details regarding UCEED 2023 seat allocation.

IIT Bombay has announced that Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and Design (SSPAD) of Nagpur has been added to the list of UCEED 2023 result-sharing institutes. This brings the total number of UCEED 2023 result-sharing institutes to 18. The result-sharing institutes do not participate in the Joint Admission Process run by IIT Bombay.

What’s NEW for UCEED 2024?

The UCEED exam syllabus has been updated by IIT Bombay and will take effect in 2024. As a result, questions for the UCEED 2024 exam will no longer be based on the previous curriculum. The updated curriculum must be used by candidates to study for the test. Note that the test format has also been altered in addition to the material. For instance, Part B will now include TWO questions and the test will last 60 minutes. 

NOTE: Candidates taking the UCEED 2024 exam should be aware that the exam's syllabus has also been updated.

What is the UCEED Exam?

Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is conducted to grant admission to the BDes program in some of the prestigious institutions across the country such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur & Other Private Institutes. IIT Bombay is the conducting body of UCEED exam 2024.

The UCEED exam pattern has been divided into two parts - Part A and Part B. The candidate needs to score qualifying marks in the exam to get admission at the participating Institutes in the BDes program.

UCEED Application Form 2024

Candidates who fulfilled the eligibility criteria for the BDes program were able to fill out the application form of UCEED 2023. The application process was done in an online mode.  

What is the Process to Fill Out the Application Form for UCEED 2023?

Candidates can follow the steps listed below to get registered for the UCEED exam. 

Step 1  - Registration

The candidates have to click on the application link. Then, they will be redirected to an application form. Fill in the details for the registration process like name, contact number, email id, etc. Once you are done with it, an account will be created for the candidate.

Step 2 - Fill in the details in the application form

The candidate has to fill in the application form that includes information like personal, academic, and contact, educational degree. The candidates have to fill in all the details of each section. The candidates need to make a selection for the exam center of UCEED entrance test. There will be a maximum of THREE exam cities based on the candidates priority that can be selected by the candidate.

Step 3 - Upload documents 

Next, the candidate has to upload documents like date of birth, signature, birth proof, photograph, and certificates if applicable. The qualifying exam certificates have to be uploaded in the prescribed format mentioned in the application form..

Step 4 - Pay the application fee 

The candidates have to pay the application fee in online mode. The fee can be paid via credit card/ debit card or net banking.

Step 5 - Take a printout of the application form

The candidate must take out the printout for future reference.

UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2024

The candidate should meet the following eligibility criteria for getting admission into the  BDes program offered by the participating institutes through UCEED 2024.


Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualification

  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam and scored a minimum of 50% marks in all the subjects from the recognised board in 2024.


  • Must be appearing for the 1st time in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates from all streams such as Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities are eligible to apply for UCEED 2024.

Age Limit

  • For General/EWL/OBC-NCL the candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1998.
  • For SC/ST/PwD the candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 1993.


  • Can attempt the UCEED exam for a maximum of two times but in consecutive years.

UCEED Admission Process 2024

The candidates can check the step-wise admission procedure of UCEED 2024.

UCEED Admit Card 2024

The admit card of UCEED 2024 is always released a few days before the exam. In order to access the UCEED 2024 admit card, registered candidates will have to visit the official website at Candidates are required to enter their email ID and password to download the UCEED 2024 admit card.

The admit card for the UCEED 2024 exam will be available in the second week of January 2024. All applicants who successfully completed the UCEED application form and paid the exam cost will be issued admit cards.

The admit card of UCEED 2024 includes information like candidates' application ID, exam schedule, exam roll number and exam centre. Before downloading the UCEED admit card/hall ticket, candidates must check all the details mentioned on the admit card. If any candidate finds any discrepancy, then the same must be immediately reported to the concerned authority before the last date for rectification of errors. The candidate will not be allowed to enter the exam hall without the admit card.

UCEED 2024 Exam Centers

TheUCEED exam is conducted across 24 test centres in India and one test centre in Dubai. The exam centres of UCEED are selected while filling out theapplication form for the UCEED entrance exam. The applicants have the jurisdiction to shortlist any three exam centres of UCEED as per their preference and liking. The candidates must choose the exam centres wisely so that they may not face any issues on the exam day while reaching the exam centre.

UCEED Syllabus 2024

IIT Bombay has announced that the entrance test will hereafter be administered using a redesigned syllabus beginning with UCEED 2024. The following are the salient features of the updated syllabus for UCEED 2024:

  • The UCEED 2024 exam paper will still be divided into two parts, Part A and Part B, in accordance with the updated curriculum.
  • Three components (NAT, MSQ, and MCQ) make up Part A of the computer-based test that will be used to administer it.
  • The questions in Part B will now be divided into two categories: aptitude for design and drawing. The computer will display the question for Part B, and the student must write or draw their answer in the answer book that the invigilator will supply.
  • Part B would last for 60 minutes.

UCEED Exam Pattern 2024

IIT Bombay specifies the UCEED 2024 exam pattern, which will cover all of the exam's requirements. The following information is mentioned in the UCEED exam pattern:

  • The test will last three hours, and the questions will be written in English.
  • There will be two sections to the exam: Part A and Part B, all of which are required.
  • The total marks would be 300.
  • A computer-based test in Part A will have 240 possible points and take 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete.
  • This portion of the UCEED exam consists of 3 components.

  • There will be NAT (Numerical Answer Type) questions in Section 1: An answer is a numeric value that must be input using the computer's screen's virtual keyboard. For these queries, there will not be any available options.
  • Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) with one or more correct answers will make up Section 2. There will be four options available.
  • There will be four options for the MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) in Section 3 but only one of them will be the right response.


A drawing test worth 60 marks must be finished in 30 minutes. One drawing-related question will be posed to candidates. Candidates must either write their answer to the question or draw it on the given paper/sheet when it is presented on the computer screen. After the test, the Part B answer booklet will be removed for analysis

UCEED 2024 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme for the UCEED 2024 exam is as follows: 

  • If all of the appropriate answers are selected for each question, +4 marks will be given.
  • Only if three of the four right choices are selected and no wrong response is selected will there be +3 marks awarded.
  • If three or more of the choices are accurate but only two of them are picked and none of the erroneous choices is made, you will receive +2 marks.
  • If just one choice is selected out of two or more valid alternatives and none of the erroneous options are selected, a +1 will be added.
  • The attempted question received a score of zero (-).
  • -1 for wrong responses.

UCEED 2024 Answer Key and Question Paper

Within a day or two of the UCEED 2024 exam's completion, IIT Bombay will provide the UCEED 2024 answer key. Additionally, the UCEED 2024 exam questions will be made available. The official answers to the questions in the entrance exam were included in the draught answer key. The candidate can compute the likely scores using the keys. Additionally, within the specified window, candidates may submit any complaints they may have regarding the draught answer key using the candidate site; comments or objections received through mail or other methods will not be considered. 

It should be reminded that each candidate's question sequence may differ, therefore they must input any complaints or questions using the Master Question Paper. Only up to the announcement of exam results is it possible to obtain the candidates' replies for Part A of the UCEED 2023 exam. Following consideration of candidate input, the final answer key for the UCEED 2024 exam will likely be made public during the final week of January 2024.

UCEED 2024 Cut-off for Part A

Around the second week of April 10, 2023, IIT Bombay disclosed the category-wise cut-off marks for admission to the B.Des programme for Round I. Candidates who reach the category cut-off rank are eligible for admission to the B.Des programme. Part A cutoff marks will be issued early, around the second week of February 2024. The cut-offs were published as mean and standard deviations. 

It is important to note that the qualifying cut-off is only used to select candidates. Only if the candidate is shortlisted are the Part B answer booklets reviewed. Here is some important information about the UCEED 2024 cut-off marks for Part A

  • The cut-offs will be announced in each category.
  • The candidate's Part B answer booklets will be reviewed only if he or she meets the cut-off.
  • All candidates who meet the cut-off will be considered.
  • A particular formula is used to compute the cut-off mark.
  • All applicants that are shortlisted will be assigned a rank.
  • Candidates' Part B papers will not be reviewed, and they will not be allocated any ranks if they are not shortlisted.
  • Part B assessed papers will not be shared by IIT Bombay.
  • Part B assessment will be done manually.

UCEED Result 2024

The UCEED 2023 result was released on March 9, 2023, in an online mode. The result can be checked on the official website followed by the merit list. The UCEED Scorecard was made available on March 11, 2023, by the authorities. Candidates must have to enter their login credentials to check the scorecard of UCEED 2023.

UCEED 2024 results will be announced by IIT Bombay in the second week of March 2024. The results will be posted on the UCEED 2024 - IIT Bombay entrance page. Candidates can get their UCEED exam results by logging in using their registered email address and password.

UCEED Result Sharing Institutes

Apart from  the participating institutes, a number of other various institutes also grant admission through UCEED scores for admission into undergraduate design courses.

However, there is a difference between these institutes UCEED result-sharing institutes will not participate in the joint seat allotment process conducted by IIT Bombay for the participating institutes of UCEED 2023.

Dear Student,

You are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria of UCEED 2021 in order to be eligible for admission. Open or OBC-NCL category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1996. SC, ST or PwD category candidates date of birth certificate should mention the birth date on or after October 1, 1991. If you satisfy the aforementioned criteria, then you are eligible for UCEED 2021.
