The University of Huddersfield is a public research university established in 1825. It became a university in 1992 with its affiliation with the Association of Commonwealth Universities, University Alliance and Universities UK. Named after the city it is located in, the university is known as a world-class centre of higher education in the UK. The university was named Times Higher Education University of the Year in 2013 and it enjoys a place in the 701-750 range in the 2020 Global Work Rankings compiled by QS Top Universities. Some other accolades earned by the university include being gold-rated by TEF, winning the Global Teaching Excellence Award etc.

The staff and students at the University of Huddersfield are likely to join the on-campus programme from September 2021 for the new academic year. The UK Government had granted permission for in-person teaching from May 17, 2021. It is expected to be fully open with various facilities like events, laboratory work, music studios, art and design, film facilities etc.
The on-campus induction and welcome week activities shall be conducted without any restrictions. Workshops, practical sessions, seminars and project work shall resume as per the schedule.
The University shall continue to follow the governments guidelines and regulations to ensure a Covid-secure environment for everyone.
Those who will be travelling from a foreign nation will have to follow travel guidelines defined by the UK Government.

Given below are the scholarships that can be claimed by international candidates to help support their cost of education at the University of Huddersfield.
All international students applying to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Huddersfield are automatically considered for these scholarships. The candidature is considered on the basis of the application for admission itself.

This is open to all those international students who are studying an undergraduate degree and want to study a Master’s degree at the University of Huddersfield. No separate application is required for this.

Eligibility: Offered to students who:
Have graduated from the University of Huddersfield in the past two years.
Have a minimum of 2.1-degree classification.
Are Enrolled in a MA/MSc programme.
Is self-funded.
Open for Indian candidates to bachelors as well as masters courses who complete their deposit payment before certain specified dates.
Value: £500 - £1,000 (depends on the date of payment of deposit)

Those from a Commonwealth country and are applying for a postgraduate level study (Master’s or PhD) are eligible for this scholarship.
A government scholarship, aimed at covering an international students tuition fees and living expenses, is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. In 2021, it will sponsor more than 1,500 students applying to UK universities to study full-time courses at the postgraduate level in any subject.
It provides a waiver of full fee on research degrees, full-time or part-time. The same is open to home, EU and international applicants.

Must have achieved a first-class honours degree and a distinction at taught Master’s
OR Must have been recommended based on your Masters by research by academic school and supervisor. Also should have graduated from the University of Huddersfield in the last three years. Those graduating in the current academic year may also apply.
