Government College of Engineering Salem is one of the oldest engineering institutes of Tamil Nadu. The college is known for its architectural style. The campus is spread in the area of 400 acres with all the modern facilities made available to the students. The classrooms at GCE Salem are installed with audio-visual aids and projectors.

From indoor to an outdoor sports facility, to the gymnasium, to hostel facility for the students. The college has a table tennis court, cricket ground, volleyball court, basketball court and others. The college also has a computer lab with wifi facility for the students. 

GCE Salem campus has a separate boys and girls hostel with fully Wi-Fi enabled hostel rooms and provides all necessary facilities including purified drinking water, hot water, food court, etc. Besides this, GCE library is a world-class library and the area spread over 789.40 square meters.

The library has a specialized collection of books, journals and other resources in Science, Engineering & Technology. Additionally, audio-visual information access facilities are also provided in the library. The library is well equipped with an ample number of tables and chairs and the collection of books is around 65099 numbers of books in total. GCE transportation facilities are also available for students and staffs. It provides an immense help which reduces their transpiration cost and ensures safety and security as well.

The Arts Club is one of the six clubs under the STUDENTS UNION at GCE,Salem. The aim of the club has been to develop and promote the arts culture among students in the campus. We through our distinctive and immersing activities each year, try to create a vibrant and colourful atmosphere on the campus.  The myriad of activities include the competitive intra-college events, the open events, art gallery visits, GECOFEST events and even the deco at GECOFEST and various functions at GCE Salem. With events like Street Painting, Wall Painting, Rangoli, Clay modelling, Face Painting, Oil Painting etc we make life at GCE Salem fun-filled and fascinating.

Music Club of GCE,Salem is one of the dedicated wing of The STUDENTS UNION for the promotion of Indian Music as well as Global Music updating with emerging trends of latest music, especially among the student community of GCE Salem. It also helps in developing the musical abilities of singers, instruentalists and sound geeks. All necessary facilities, including musical instruments such as Keyboard, Drums, Tabla etc are available for the students to hone their talents. The club also organizes regular singing and band practises.Music Club has been bringing quality Music to the campusites of GCE Salem, as well as the general public.

TO Bring out the inbuilt dancing talents of the students of the college and make the team competent among other dancing crews. To achieve the vision with regular routines and planned choreography and bring laurels and pride to the college and team GDC (GCE dancing crew) To bring highest quality of dancing techniques and satisfaction to the crew members by very strong motivation and guidance from the choreographers

      ENGLISH LITERARY ASSOCIATION(ELA) – an epitome of dialectal essence, serves as a platform to pursue your love towards literature beyond the classrooms. The main theme of ELA is to enhance the English knowledge among the students helping them to tackle placements and also relive them of stage fear. On its beautiful part it conducts several events such as JAM, Extempore, Adzap, Pressmeet, Shipwreck etc which enrich the literary content of the students. ELA also encourages students to participate in various inter-college cultural fests, where they have proved their literary talents. Besides being a platform for the development of language, ELA is a cup of coffee in the evening which entertains the students every week by exploring their talents. The real heat of ELA will be exposed during GECOFEST through its both on-stage and of-stage events.
