HNBGU PhD : Fees, Courses, Eligibility & Admission 2025

HNBGU PhD is a 3 Years program offered in multiple specializations. To be eligible for a Ph.D. at Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Garhwal, candidates must possess a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a relevant subject from a recognized university. A 5% relaxation in marks is provided for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) and differently-abled candidates. Prospective students must clear the university’s Research Entrance Test (RET). However, candidates who have qualified for UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE or hold an M.Phil. degree are exempt from the RET but are required to appear for an interview, where their research proposal and aptitude for doctoral research are assessed.
