HNBGU or Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, previously known as Garhwal University, was established in 1973. It was renamed in 1989 to honour the ex-chief minister of UP, Honourable Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna. In 2009, the university was made a central university. The university is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade A. HNBGU Garhwal has three campuses, namely, BCC Campus Srinagar, BGR Campus Pauri, and SRT Campus Tehri. The university has 11 schools of study under which all the courses are offered.

Popular HNBGU courses are B.Tech, MBA, MCA, B.Ed, B.Pharm, M.Sc Microbiology, and LLB. HNBGU admission to UG and PG courses like B.Sc, BA, B.Com, and more students need to pass the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Similarly, for B.Tech admission JEE Main score is required if seats remain vacant after CUET UG merit list admission.

HNBGU campus offers facilities like hostel accommodations for male and female students, a library, medical facilities, a foreign student office, and more. The HNBGU placement is offered to students who are in their final year of the course. The university has a Career Counseling and Placement Service Centre, which conducts the yearly placement drive at the campus. HNBGU median salary for the two-year PG course in 2022 was Rs 5,20,000 per annum.

HNBGU Admission Dates 2023

The process of HNBGU admission differs from course to course. For example, the HNBGU admission process for B.Tech courses is based on the CUET UG merit list. If seats remain vacant, the university will grant admission to Bachelor of Technology through university level counselling on the basis of JEE Main score. In addition, for admission to courses like BA, BBA, B.Sc, and more, the university will draw up a merit list using the CUET UG marks and the marks in the separate departmental exams. Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University admission to MBA is based on a merit list drawn up on the basis of CUET PG score. Moreover, for MBA admission, MAT and CMAT scores are considered if seats remain vacant. HNBGU admission process 2023 based on CUET UG and PG has been concluded. HNBGU Cut Off 2023

Admission to this university is not based on the HNBGU cutoff. The university releases a merit list instead of opening and closing ranks. So students do not need to look for the HNBGU cutoff list. Instead, they should check the merit list. The merit list is drawn up using the marks obtained in the entrance examinations. The entrance exam differs from course to course. Along with the scores obtained in the entrance exam, different departments at the Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University also conduct their own departmental examinations, which are considered while creating the merit list for courses like B.Sc, BBA, B.Com, BA, and more. Aspiring candidates can find the HNBGU merit list on the official website under the admission tab by clicking on the ‘Counselling Information/Merit List’ option.

Hello Kiran,

To secure admission at Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, in the M.Sc programme, you have to have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university. Admission to the M.Sc programmes is done on the basis of the CUET PG exam. The last date for admission to the PG courses was August 11, 2023, through the counselling process. Therefore chances of admission to HNBGU this year are minimal. It is suggested that you contact the university authorities at 01346-252143 (O) or email at registrar.hnbgu@gmail.com stating your query. You can also ask about the availability of vacancies in the particular programme.

Hope this was helpful. Feel free to ask for any more queries.

NTA also announced the CUET PG test dates 2023, which are planned from June 22 to June 30, 2023. For admission in the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University PG course, you can check the CUET PG Results which was released on July  20, 2023. The Counselling date and Cutoff for CUET PG will be out soon. Kindly keep a check on it.

I hope this helps!
