IIT Goa Cutoff 2026 - Check JEE Advanced and GATE cutoff

IIT Goa cutoff 2026 will likely see a 5 to 10% rise in JEE Advanced ranks for BTech courses. This means closing ranks may shift higher by 200 to 800 points from 2025 levels. For MTech, GATE scores could increase by 10 to 20 points across specialisations. Admission to IIT Goa BTech requires to have a good rank in JEE Advanced, while for MTech, a solid GATE score is required. Candidates must pass class 12 with 75% marks in physics, chemistry, and maths for BTech admission; for MTech admission to IIT Goa, candidates must have 60% in BTech. However, for the reserved categories, the required percentage is quite lower, staying at 65% and 55% for BTech and MTech respectively. JEE Main qualifies you for Advanced, followed by JoSAA counselling. GATE leads to COAP for MTech seats. IIT Goa fees for BTech are Rs 200,000 per year, covering tuition only, while for MTech, it's Rs 180,000 to Rs 220,000 for 2 years. 

IIT Goa JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff is likely to tighten moderately across all branches, primarily due to low seat intake and higher applications. High-demand branches such as Computer Science and Engineering and Mathematics and Computing are likely to see the lowest closing ranks for all the categories, incl. the reserved ones, while other core branches like electrical and mechanical engineering anticipate remaining relatively stable with only marginal shifts. Overall, cutoff changes for 2026 are projected to stay within a 2–6% range, varying by branch and category.

• JEE Advanced 2026 cutoffs for Computer Science and Engineering are likely increase by 3–5% across categories, resulting in lower closing ranks. Expect all the categories to have an upward shift of 200-300 ranks from that of 2025.
• Compared to 2025, the general category ranks may go up by 4–6% in electrical engineering, leading to an expected closing rank of 10500, from AIR 10095 in 2025.
• On the contrary, the Mathematics and Computing cutoff in 2026 is expected to see higher competition with lower closing ranks. The JEE Advanced 2026 cutoff for MnC is likely to tighten by 4-5%.
• One of the core reasons of high cutoff of CSE is its placement. With an average package of Rs 25 LPA for the CSE, IIT Goa placement in 2025 was quite impressive for all the BTech branches.

IIT Goa GATE cutoff 2026 is likely to increase by 10-30 points across branches. Branches like Computer Science and Engineering may see the general scores to climb by 15 to 25 points higher due to steady applicant growth. MTech Electrical Engineering could rise by 10 to 20 points across categories. Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering expect to see a 20- to 30-point jump. IIT Goa MTech seat intake is 48 across branches comprising of all the categories. The reservation rule applies as per the government rule, leaving 50% seats for the general category. 

Additionally, IIT Goa also offers MTech in Marine Engineering in collaboration with the National School of Engineering Brest, France for the top 2 students of IIT BTech with a CPI of over 8.0 and minimum 60% in BTech.

Expect these changes for each MTech specialisation:

• GATE 2026 score for Computer Science and Engineering may rise by 15-25 points for all categories as demand grows.
• General and OBC may see 10-20 point increases in Electrical Engineering.
• SC and EWS candidates can expect to see 20-30 point hikes for admission to MTech Mechanical Engineering.
• Candidates may need around 350-370 scores  in GATE 2026 for IIT Goa admission to MTech in Chemical Engineering. 

IIT Goa GATE cutoff 2025 used scores from multiple COAP rounds to fill MTech seats. Final closing scores reached 641 for General in Computer Science and Engineering after ten rounds. Electrical Engineering closed at 502 for General. Mechanical Engineering ended at 428, Chemical Engineering at 227, and Marine Science and Technology at 400. IIT Goa GATE 2025 cutoff rose from 2024 levels in key areas:

• Computer Science and Engineering General scores increased 20 points from 621 in 2024.
• The Electrical Engineering OBC cutoff increased from 433 to 448 in 2025, defining a 3.46% increase from the last year.

IIT Goa cutoff trends show steady rises in ranks and scores in the last 3 years, from 2023 to 2025. JEE Advanced closing ranks for BTech grew 10 to 20% since 2020 as applicant numbers hit 1.8 lakh. GATE scores for MTech edged up 5 to 10% annually, reflecting tougher papers in last 2 years. Both the MTech and BTech CSE saw lowest opening and closing ranks, while mechanical engineering saw the highest closing ranks. So for the candidates scoring ranks above 10,000 in JEE Advanced, electrical and mechanical engineering can be accessible, while in GATE, a score of above 690 can open door for CSE. Below that, expect to get branches like EE and ME at IIT Goa.

• JEE Advanced BTech ranks increased most in Mathematics and Computing by 15% from 2023 to 2025.
• GATE MTech scores rose 8% in Electrical Engineering over two years.
• Overall, cutoffs tightened with 5% more seats but 12% more qualifiers.
