Admission to Malnad College of Engineering (MCE) in Hassan is primarily based on entrance exams and counseling processes. For undergraduate B.E./B.Tech programs, admission is through the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for government quota seats and the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) for management quota seats. The candidates for the M.Tech programmes should have taken the GATE examination securing good scores. However, in case of insufficient GATE candidates, some seats are given to the Sponsored candidates.
the candidates should have passed the prescribed qualifying examination with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate, in the examinations considered for the declaration of class. There will be reservation for SC/ST candidates as per the rules.
