October 27, 2025The MAT 2025 December session registration is now open at mat.aima.in. Candidates can apply until December 7 for the PBT mode and December 15 for the CBT mode. Admit cards will be released on December 10 for PBT and on December 18 for CBT.
October 27, 2025The CAT 2025 admit card will be released on November 5, 2025, at iimcat.ac.in. Candidates can access and download their hall tickets by logging in with their CAT ID and password. The CAT 2025 examination is set to take place on November 30, 2025.
October 27, 2025The CMAT 2026 registration process is now open at cmat.nta.nic.in. Candidates can fill out the application form until November 17, 2025, and pay the application fee by November 18, 2025. The correction window will be active from November 20 to 21, 2025. The exam date for CMAT 2026 will be announced shortly.
October 15, 2025The final phase of MAT 2025, December session, will soon open for registration. The exam will be conducted in both CBT and PBT modes, with one session each. The registration fee is ₹2,200 (₹3,800 for candidates opting for both modes). MAT scores will be valid for admission to the 2026 academic year.
About NIFTEM
The National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) is a premier research and educational institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. It is dedicated to advancing food technology, entrepreneurship, and management through cutting-edge research and academic excellence.
Established in 1967 by Dr. V. Subrahmanyan, former Director of CFTRI, Mysore, as the Paddy Processing Research Centre (PPRC), the institute initially functioned as an R&D lab within the Modern Rice Mill complex of TCMF, Tiruvarur. Its early research primarily focused on addressing challenges related to preserving high-moisture paddy, a critical issue in Southern India, where the harvest season coincides with the South-West monsoon.
Today, NIFTEM offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in food technology, food science, and allied disciplines. Courses include B.Tech in Food Technology, M.Tech specializations such as Food Process Engineering and Food Safety & Quality Assurance, and Ph.D. programs in various food technology domains. Admissions to these programs are based on national-level entrance exams such as JEE, GATE, and institute-specific criteria, ensuring that the brightest minds contribute to the future of the food industry.
Admissions are entrance-based, accepting JEE Main for B.Tech, GATE for MTech. The JOSSA Round 6 Seat Allotment Result has been officially released. This round concludes the seat allotment process under JOSSA 2025. GATE admissions are closed for this year, next year registrations will begin in August 2025, and the exam will be conducted in February 2026

NIFTEM Admission Dates 2025
NIFTEM admission is granted to students who qualify for the entrance exam and meet the college’s cutoff. Moreover, students also must meet the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. For B.Tech admission, JEE Mains score is considered, and the allotment takes place through JoSAA counselling, admissions for this year BTech courses are ongoing, JoSAA has released the cutoff for various rounds, interested candidates can check the result on the official website. For MTech admissions, GATE scores are considered followed by CCMT counselling. This year MTech admissions have already been done, for next year the registrations will start from August 2025.

How to get NIFTEM Sonepat Admission 2025:
To apply for the different courses:
- Visit the college's official website Navigate to the Admission section
- Select the course from the dropdown menu
- Click on the “ NIFTEM Application form tab: in the right corner of the screen
- Register with the application portal “New Applicant”
- Fill in the application Form
- If the student fulfills the eligibility criteria, he/she will be contacted by the admission team to appear for GD and PI

NIFTEM Scholarships
Interested students can get scholarships from this institution. To avail of scholarships, students need to qualify for some eligibility criteria. The college provides several scholarships to its students. NIFTEM Sonepat Scholarship is merit-based. This scholarship program is available for all courses such as B.Tech., M.Tech. and MBA.
There are two types of scholarships at this institution:
Merit-Based Scholarship: Top 3 students on merit get this scholarship from B.Tech. and one student from each M.Tech. program. The college authority pays NIFTEM Merit Scholarship during the second semester. This scholarship consists of a 10-month college tuition fee waiver and a fixed monthly income.
Merit Cum Means Scholarship: This scholarship program is only eligible for the needy students of M.Tech programs whose yearly family income is less than Rs. 2.50 L. It is provided on a merit cum means basis to the needy students.
