Overall: Best decision so far chosing nit rourkela ls over private university cse The knowledge about future prospects i get here will ways be unmatched by any private university Came here out of fear of losing nit tag, fell in love with the college here
Placement: So the overall placements included around 1170 offers which is about 85-90 percent students placed And the highest package was 1.2 cpa who was from electronics department and the lowest was 3.3 lpa from many departments My department's placements arent that great because obviously most of them chose further studies in this college only or in foreign universities. So in life science, Highest-7lpa, lowest-3.5lpa in 2023-24 And there were only 3 offers and these are generally from coaching institutes for teaching
Infrastructure: The infrastructure which includes the tallest GOLDEN JUBILEE is a masterclass, then comes the Lecture halls(1 and 2), what beautifully they are designed with 5 floors and then comes my hostel, so basically from previous year, now all juniors boys are being kept in VS HALL OF RESIDENCE, which is the biggest one in campus and very beautiful in shape and greenery The campus has a central library which has a large variety of books and an ambient studying place Campus has every sports complex we want like cricket ground, football, handball, badminton, basketball, volleyball, tennis ,swimming pool. Also there are many canteens in the campus and also good hostels and restaurants.
Faculty: My department has best and talented faculties. They help whoever wants to get into research field, first they say us to start with improving cgpa and then help us in interning at iits Our department's faculty advisor helps us out in problems. So in terms of my department, my faculties are chill and good But there cant be all good faculties in the college but in first year, you cant know much about the srictness and leniency. But as i have heard from seniors, electrical department has some very strict faculties.
Hostel: In the campus, there are 12 hostels including 7 for males, 3 for females and 2 for married students. From 2023, freshers are being kept in VS hall with phd scholars. Genrally these are two seater rooms with 2 tables, 2 beds and 1-2 chairs, a big departmental shelf, and a top shelf with a big glass window with curtains. Mess is decent, hygiene is bad, quality is avg. While there arw different enjoyment rooms like TV, MUSIC, AND a different study room, a seaprate gym in each hostel and 2 badminton courts, a big volleyball courts, 3 chess and carrom tables and 2 table tennis court
