NIT Rourkela Admission 2024 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

NIT Rourkela BTech admission 2024 is based on JEE Main 2024. The institute will start the admission process for BTech with JoSAA registration from June 10, 2024 onwards. 

The admission process is the primary process as, without this, a candidate cannot become a student in the NIT Rourkela. Every college has different criteria for admitting candidates for different courses. Some have entrance tests of their own, whilst some accept the scores of all India entrance tests as the base score for admission. National Institute of Technology, Rourkela Admission Eligibility for PG:

1. B.Tech + entrance exam – This criterion is for securing admission in the M.Tech course at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. This course is for 2 years, and the GATE entrance exam is to be attempted by the candidate.

2. B.Sc with entrance exam – This criterion is to be fulfilled by candidates who want to secure admission in the MSc course at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. This is a 2 years course, and candidates must attempt the IIT JAM entrance exam and should have a minimum of 55% aggregate in their bachelor's degree.

3. Bachelor`s degree without entrance exam - This criterion is to be fulfilled by candidates who want to secure admission to the MA course at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. Candidates should have at least 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CGPA. Candidates registered for admission will be shortlisted for the written test/ PI round based on the application submitted. The institute conducts its entrance exam and PI rounds for the final selection. 

4. Bachelor`s degree with entrance exam - This criterion is to be fulfilled by candidates who want to secure admission to the MBA course at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. This is a 2 years course, and entrance exams like CAT, MAT, and CMAT are accepted at this institute. Candidates should at least have a 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% of their bachelor`s degree. CAT 2022 result has been declared. 

National Institute of Technology, Rourkela Admission Eligibility for Integrated course:

• class 12 with entrance exam – This criterion is for candidates who want admission for the B.Sc + M.Sc course at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. Candidates should clear JEE Main entrance exam and have a 65% aggregate in their class 12 exam from a recognised institute.

National Institute of Technology, Rourkela International Admission 2024:

The Office of International Admission is the nodal point of admission to the University for international students. After going through the eligibility criteria for the courses, the students must obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) through the official website. 

The students are then advised to send the following documents to AIU to obtain an Equivalence Certificate-

• Degree/Certificate and the year-wise Academic Transcript duly authenticated by the Indian Embassy in the Country or its concerned Foreign Mission in India.
• Accreditation status of the University/Institute which the student has last attended.
• Copies of the academic Certificates from Higher Secondary onwards (where necessary)

All Foreign / NRI students must register with the concerned District Foreigners Registration Officer / Foreigners Regional Registration Officers within 14 days of their first arrival in India.

To complete the admission process, the student must report to the office of the International Admissions to complete admission/Foreigner's Regional Registration Office (FRRO) formalities.

Candidates or students seeking admission at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, can walk into the campus and head to the admission cell to get the admission form. The NIT Rourkela B.Tech admission is based on JEE Main ranks and JoSAA counselling. The final selection shall be based on the candidate's class 12 score and JEE score followed by the counselling.

The candidates must have secured at least 75% marks in their Class 12 Examination conducted by respective boards. For SC/ST students, there shall be a relaxation of 5% in this criterion.

The NIT Rourkela M.Tech admission is based on the GATE examination through counselling. 

Candidates should have at least 60% (55% marks for SC/ST) marks in BE/ B.Tech.

NIT Rourkela offers a Bachelor of Architecture. In order to take admission to B.Arch, candidates must qualify for both JEE Mains and JEE Advance. 

• Should pass class 12 in the Science stream
• General Category students must pass the class 12 exam with 75% marks. 
• SC/ST Category students must pass the class 12 exam with 65% marks.
