To pursue a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree at Nitte University Mangalore, applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria. Candidates should have a Master's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. However, a relaxation of 5% is provided for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled categories. Additionally, applicants must have qualified in a national-level entrance exam such as UGC-NET (including JRF)/CSIR-NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/teacher fellowship holders or have successfully completed the M.Phil. program. Selection is based on the performance in the entrance exam, followed by an interview conducted by the university.
