
NEET UG 2026 exam is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026 . The paper will be held in an offline mode from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM IST, with a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. The NEET UG exam day starts with a nerve-wracking frisking process during which candidates are checked for any barred items and ensure they are in proper uniform. If you violate any guidelines released by NTA, the frisking process may take longer than usual, which will delay your entrance to the exam hall and cause anxiety, which can affect your performance.
To avoid any sudden surprises, here are some NEET UG 2026 exam day dos and don’ts.

NEET UG 2026 Exam Day Timings
Strict rules are followed by NTA regarding the NEET UG 2026 exam day timings. Check the timings here:
NEET UG 2026 exam will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM.
The entry to the exam hall will start from 11 AM.
The candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination Centre after 01:30 PM.
From 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM, there will be an announcement of important instructions and a check of admit cards by the invigilator.
The test booklets will be distributed by the invigilator at 1:45 PM.
Candidates are supposed to write particulars on the test booklet by 1:50 PM.
Finally, the test commences at 2:00 PM and concludes at 5:00 PM.

NEET UG 2026 Exam Day Documents to Carry
Before the entry, candidates will be verified according to the documents they are supposed to bring. You need to have the following physical documents with you on NEET exam day:
A printed copy of the admit card downloaded from the NTA website.
Two passport-sized photographs (same as uploaded on the examination form)
One valid government identity proof.
Certificate of physical limitation to write or PwBD certificate, if claiming relaxation under the PwBD category.

NEET UG 2026 Exam Day Dos & Don'ts
Now, in the Information Bulletin, NTA has released some important instructions to be followed on the exam day:
Candidates are required to show their admit card on demand for admission to the examination hall.
You are not allowed to enter the examination hall without an admit card.
Candidates must only sit in their allotted seats, which will be allotted based on their roll number.
A candidate who comes after 1:30 PM shall not be permitted to enter the exam centre.
Do not bring any barred materials inside the exam hall.
Do not leave your seat and the examination room until the test concludes.
Do not leave the room/ hall without handing over your OMR Sheets to the invigilator on duty.
You are not allowed to smoke in the examination centre or nearby.
Water bottles, tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks etc., are not allowed to be taken by the candidates into the examination centre.
Candidates suffering from diabetes are allowed to carry into the examination hall the eatables (with prior intimation) like sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange) and transparent water bottles. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/ candy,/sandwich etc.
The conduct of the NEET (UG) - 2026 examination would be videographed. The candidates are required to keep their heads in an upright position and face the camera during the videography so that their identity can be clearly established.
Since NEET UG 2026 is nearing, the anxiety that comes with it becomes unavoidable. However, after going through the exam day guidelines, you can prepare yourself confidently for the frisking process, which is the most distressing. Do not forget to carry all the documents and reach the exam venue on time to complete all the formalities smoothly.
