The North Bengal University counselling for admission to B.A. LL.B. (Honours Course) for the academic session 2023-24 will be held on September 6, 2022, at Vidyasagar Mancha, of the University of North Bengal at 11 am. The North Bengal University online application for admission in Post Graduate courses started on September 1, 2022. The last date for online application submission is September 15, 2022. A seminar room/computer lab with 30 computers and microphones makes it possible to conduct practical training programmes.

North Bengal University Siliguri Application Process 2023

The NBU Siliguri admission process is merit-based. The Directorate of Distance Education (NBUDDE) conducts the application, admission, and counselling process at the NBU Siliguri. Several steps are to be followed to complete the application process for access to the NBU Siliguri.

• The student must visit the official website of the North Bengal University Siliguri. 
• Fill out the online application form for the desired courses with relevant information.
• Pay North Bengal University application fees of Rs 100. You can make the payment through UPI, net banking, debit card, credit card, etc.
• The student should take a printout of the submitted NBU Siliguri application form and fee receipt.
• The student must appear in the entrance test of the concerned subject to get admission at NBU Siliguri.
• After getting selected for the NBU entrance test, the student must undergo the counselling process for admission.
• The student must submit the required documents, the printed application form, and the fee receipt at the time of admission verification.

The documents required for the NBU counselling are as follows-

The NBU Siliguri provides several placements for the final year of studying in different courses. The placements are conducted yearly so the students can get settled as per their requirements. • Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarships Scheme –

The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is to helps students have an annual family income of less than Rs 2,50,000. This scholarship helps the students get higher education in West Bengal.

The eligibility of the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Schemes is as follows-

1. The student must have at least 60% marks in the last qualifying examination.
2. Should have an annual family income of Rs 2,50,000
3. The student must be a resident of West Bengal.
4. Should not have applied in any other Govt. Scholarships.

The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarships Scheme provides scholarships at educational institutions based in West Bengal.

• Shri Dorilal Agarwal National Meritorious Scholarship for Physically Challenged students –

The Shri Dorilal Agarwal National Meritorious Scholarship is provided for the physically challenged students studying at the NBU Siliguri. This NBU scholarship is given to students pursuing BBA/ BCA/ B. tech./ MBA/ MCA/ M.D./ MS courses.

The Shri Dorilal Agarwal National Meritorious Scholarship eligibility for physically challenged students is as follows –

1. The physically challenged students can be eligible for the scholarship.
2. The student must be worthy, that is, he should be good in his studies.
3. The students studying in BBA/ BCA/ MBA/ MBBS/ MCA can be eligible for the scholarship.

• Kanyashree Prakalpa (Kanyashree-III) -

The Kanyashree Prakalpa scholarship is provided to girls studying postgraduate courses. This scholarship is a sub-scheme under the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means scholarship scheme. There is no need for family income information in North Bengal University Siliguri Scholarship.

The eligibility for the Kanyashree Prakalpa scholarship is as follows –

1. Only girl students studying in West Bengal are eligible for the Kanyashree Prakalpa Scholarship.
2. The student must have passed the bachelor's with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks from any recognised institute in West Bengal.
3. The student must be a resident of West Bengal.
4. Should not have applied in any other Govt. Scholarships.

North Bengal University campus has an area of 315.99 acres and is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas. NBU Siliguri provides education in more than 80 disciplines from more than 30 departments. Several facilities are provided for the students to make the most of their time studying and availing the university campus. The North Bengal University campus facilities consist of hostels for boys and girls, a library, a health care centre, a heritage museum, an estate office, a university press, a sports board, etc. 

• Hostels- The hostels provided on the NBU campus constitute well-furnished rooms with necessary appliances, hygienic drinking water, mess facilities, and an uninterrupted supply of electricity. The hostels allotted to boys are Ramakrishna Hall of Residence, Vidyasagar Hall of Residence, and Vivekananda Hall of Residence. The hostels allotted to girls are the Sarojini Hall of Residence, Nivedita Hall of Residence, Rani Bhawani Hall of Residence, and Purneswari Hall of Residence.
• Library- The students and teachers can access the library facilities of the NBU. The library constitutes many books, magazines, journals, newspapers, and articles that can be used for academic and research purposes.
• Health care centre- The NBU Siliguri provides health care facilities to the students and teachers inside the campus. North Bengal University Siliguri health centre, provides OPD services, emergency services, doctor consultations, and pharmacy services to the students.
• Heritage Museum- The Akshaya Kumar Maitreya Museum at the university constitutes the repository of the culture of the northern district people of West Bengal. It represents a visual history by bridging the distant past and technological present times.
• Estate office- The estate office maintains the beautiful campus of the North Bengal University Siliguri. The tasks such as planting trees, maintaining them, managing the residential areas, maintaining the water purifiers, and many other works are performed by the NBU estate office.
• Cafeteria facilities–  The cafeteria facilities of the NBU are provided to the students and teachers to avail the food service facilities on the campus. The cafeteria of the NBU provides nutritious food that is cooked hygienically. 
• Sports Board- The North Bengal University Siliguri Sports board organises and manages sports and games among the institutions and colleges. They prepare, train, and send teams from the university to the Inter-University Tournament in several sports. They also conduct adventure sports and excursions with the NBU students.
