Padmabhooshan Vasantdada Patil Institute of Technology, also known as PVPIT, was founded by 'Shetkari Shikshan Mandal' in the academic year 2006 in Pune. PVPIT Pune is spread over a 9.09-acre campus in Bavdhan, which is surrounded by rich greenery. It was established with the objective to provide, nurture, and maintain an atmosphere of high academic performance, research, and entrepreneurship for all students who aspire to pursue careers in engineering fields. 

Candidates are admitted to the college based on their MHT-CET exam scores. The college provides UG and PG engineering programmes. PVPIT Pune is affiliated with the Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune. The institute is accredited by the AICTE New Delhi. A student's academic and extracurricular activities are considered equally important for their overall growth. To facilitate that, PVPIT Pune facilities offers state-of-the-art labs and a dedicated team committed to helping students succeed both academically and aesthetically. In 2018, PVPIT Pune was accredited by NAAC with Grade A.

1. Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulka Shishyavrutti Yojana (EBC)- This scholarship is for the bonafide students of the institute. This scholarship will be offered to students whose total annual income of the family is not more than Rs 8 lakh.
2. Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojana ( For child of Registered Labor / Alpabhudharak)- This scholarship is provided to students whose annual family income is up to Rs 8 lakh.
3. Padmabhooshan Vasantdada Patil Institute of Technology scholarship program for Students of Minority Communities pursuing Higher and Professional Course (DTE)- The scholarship amount is up to Rs 25,000/- per annum or actual tuition fees whichever is less.
4. Government of India Post Matric Scholarship (SC)- This scholarship is for SC category students whose parent's annual income is less than or equal to Rs 2,50,000.
5. Post-Matric Tuition Fee and Examination Fee (Freeship) (SC)- Tuition Fees, Exam Fees & other fees which are mandatory or compulsorily payable by the student to the institution are covered under the scheme. This scholarship is for SC category students whose parent's annual income is less than or equal to Rs 2,50,000.
