Sir J. J College of Architecture(SJCA) offers the courses in the domain of architecture. Sir J. J College of Architecture Mumbai also known as SJCA, was established in 1857 as the Bombay School of Art & Industry. Later in 1952 it became a part of University of Mumbai and was named as Sir J. J. College of Architecture after the name of Sir JJ School of Art. Robert Cable. SJCA has emerged as a premier institute of architecture in India. Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Institute is located on Dr. Dadabhoy Naoroji Road, college campus includes 3 building and a dwelling. In the campus is also located the Dean's Bungalow. This modest Bungalow is rich in its associations. Prior to it being occupied by known figures like Cecil L.Burns and W.C.Gladstone Solomon, John Lockwood Kipling occupied it when in charge of the modeling department from 1865 to 1880. According to a tablet, on the building, it was here that the famous Rudyard Kipling was born on 30th December 1865. It was the Empire's poet who wrote of Bombay.Sir. J.J College of Architecture has good infrastructure & amazing staff who have served the institute for years. They are all well updated with the current trends in the Architecture & construction industry. The college campus has a wonderful location, pretty central to the most happening places in Mumbai, I have cherished all the moments spent in & around the campus which has heritage buildings over 100 yrs old.
Institute provides full placement assistance to the students in getting employment. SJCA provides placement assistance to all its students. The dedicated placement cell regularly conducts grooming sessions of the students in areas like soft skills, interview facing skills, behavioral skills hereby making them industry-fit. In the recent years, the college has witnessed some well-known recruitment companies walking in and being invited for campus placements.
