Guide of PEC chandigarh

Overall The college is good, having good environment and an anti ragging campus. This 150 acre beautiful campus provide you great exposure of tech, cultural and industry exposure. Also the city exposure is also very good.

Placement Placement in pec chandigarh is good specially in cse,ece and ee. But in lower branchs placement percentage is a bit low. Overall average package of college is 13 lpa and median is 12 lpa. Highest package this year is 61lpa. Internship and ppo are good, this year 160+ students get ppo and almost 80% student get internship opportunities.

Infrastructure Infrastructure of the college is decent but not up to the mark , you will be getting every kind of facilities but some are good and some r bad. Classrooms are average and auditorium is small to medium size. You will be getting 3 big size playing grounds. And a Nescafe and a small Market.

Faculty Faculties are highly qualified and experienced. In first year phd students and other senior faculty teaches. Faculties are a bit chill but few are very strict but very helpful and reachable to all kind of help. Other staff are also very good.

Hostel Hostel are very old and unmanaged. In 2025 we got a small room were 2 students are staying. Room size is varying room by room it's your fortune what type of room you will be getting. Washroom and bathrooms are cleaning regularly. Hot water is provided but in few bathrooms. Mess food is okay, hygeine is maintained but not Fully. 4 times meal is provided. Boys hostel closes at 10 pm and girls at 9 pm Fines are too heavy and a bit strict. But these small dena are still loveable and can be enjoyable.

Good on campus placements

Overall College has good on campus placements due to its long history i guess. But things are changing in terms of education. Teachers are interested in just finishing the syllabus and not on imparting proper Technical knowledge.

Placement Only thing keeping PEC alive is it's legacy and placements. The placements are good compared to other colleges in the vicinity. Good MNCs offering good packages come to hire a lot of students. Even companies like JPMC and Airbus are kind of mass recruiter here. Even though core companies coming to campus are less compared with non technical sector.

Infrastructure The college infrastructure is just fine. The labs have been same for almost a few decades and there are no signs of improvement. Many machines don't work. ACs still not have been installed in most of the classrooms.

Faculty The good faculty who had a lot of experience, knowledge and zeal for teaching are all almost retired and new faculty is appointed. The problem with new faculty is they aren't experienced and can't connect with the students and don't teach efficiently. They don't focus of technical understanding and engineering application rather they just want to get done with their work asap.

Hostel Currently there are 4 hostels for the boys and 2 for the girls. The boys hostels don't have enough capacity to accommodate all the students. The rooms are small but are occupied more than their capacity. But new hostels are being built. I think hostel fees is a bit on the expensive side for what they offer.

Good College with Good Placements and Campus Life

Overall Punjab Engineering College is overall good college. Average placement is of Rs.7 Lakhs per annum. Highest package goes upto Rs. 83 Lakhs per annum. Its cultural and technical fest is one of the biggest fest in North India. Campus life is good because of Clubs and Technical Societies.

Placement Roughly around 80% of students get placed every year. Remaining students either go for higher studies or study to crack Government Jobs. Average package is Rs.7 lakhs per annum. Various big companies like Goldman sachs, Bain, Mckinsey, Atlassian comes for placements for job profiles SDE, Analyst, Junior Analyst.

Infrastructure Labs are very old. Most of the times machines are not working properly in the labs. Classrooms are good. Each classroom is equipped with AC's and a smart monitor to present PPTs and play Video and Audio.

Faculty Faculty members have done their MTech and Phd's from IITs. These itself tell you about the faculty quality. Each faculty member has been assigned only few subjects of their interest. They teach us in a way so that we can crack GATE and PSU exams.

Hostel Hostels are very old. There are total of 4 Boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. Hostels have huge capacity and can accomodate all students. Hostel rooms are spacious but not cleaned regularly. Hostel washrooms are not cleaned everyday. Their condition is pathetic.
