PEC Chandigarh Scholarships 2024 - Details, Eligibility, Amount

PEC University of Technology offers several different scholarships for the students to avail from. These include merit scholarships, provided only to deserving students who have secured a good score in the national level entrance exams. Also, merit scholarships are given to students maintaining a CGPA over 9 duration the course duration at the institute. The other PEC Chandigarh scholarships include need-based scholarships for students from backward classes, financially weaker sections and also to the single girl child. The Punjab Engineering College scholarships include full freeship, half freeship, fee waivers, etc.

PEC Chandigarh Scholarship 2023

Here is the details on all the scholarships available at PEC University of Technology in Chandigarh.

Merit Scholarship

• A full freeship on the PEC Chandigarh tuition fee will be permitted to the top two students for the first year on the basis of their JEE Main rank.
• If the top two students are male candidates, then the second freeship will be awarded to the top female student with the JEE Main rank.

The freeship is given for four years duration if the following conditions are fulfilled:

• The full freeship on tuition fees in the second and following years will be continued, if the CGPA of the student is greater than 9. 
• The full freeship will be replaced by half freeship for the following years if the CGPA decreases from 9 but is greater or equal to 8.5. 
• The freeship will be discontinued in the following years if the CGPA becomes less than 8.5.

Fee Waivers for SC/ ST Students

Half freeship on Pec Chandigarh tuition fee is permitted to the students belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes.

Fee Waivers for Persons with Disabilities Category Students

• Full freeship on tuition fees is provided to all the students belonging to the Persons with Disabilities Category with an annual family income not exceeding Rs 5 lakh.
• Half freeship on tuition fees is permitted to all the students in the Persons with Disabilities Category with an annual family income not exceeding Rs 10 Lakh.

Fee Waivers based on Annual Family Income

• Full freeship on fees including hostel fee is permitted to all the students of the BPL Category. They must have a BPL card issued by the Government. 
• Half freeship on PEC Chandigarh tuition fee is provided based on the annual family income to a maximum of 2% of students in a batch. The annual family income does not exceed Rs 5 lakh.
• Fee waivers (half or full) will be provided to students, not paid school fees/ coaching fees exceeding Rs 30,000 during their classes 10 and 12 level education.
• These scholarships will be continued for 4 years only if the students maintain their academic records and do not have a backlog of more than 2 courses or is not on academic probation.

Fee Waivers For Emergencies

The Chairman Senate is authorized to financially help a student with fee waivers, on compassionate grounds during an emergency.

Government and Non-Government Scholarships

These scholarships are offered by the Government and Non-Government Organisations. The students who are provided with these scholarships cannot avail any other scholarships along with this. These include:

• Top Class Education Scheme for SC students (Central Sector Scheme).
• Top Class Education Scheme for Students with Disabilities (Central Sector Scheme).
• Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police forces and Assam Rifles.
• Post Matric Scholarships for SC/ST students.
