PAU Ludhiana Admission 2024 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

The PAU Ludhiana PhD admission online exam will take place between October 14 and November 24, 2022. From October 15, 2023, through November 25, 2022, the university will handle and conduct the counselling and personal interview. The deadline to submit an application for the Punjab Agricultural University PhD admission was October 14, 2022. Candidates who were unable to apply on this day had until October 21, 2022, to do so with a late charge of Rs 1,000. On October 12, 2022, PAU Ludhiana held its second round of B.Tech Agricultural Engineering counselling.

In order to aid the state of the old Punjab, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) was established in 1962. On July 8, 1963, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister of India, officially inaugurated it in India. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted approval to this public university, which offers more than 83 programmes in a range of specialisations. PAU Ludhiana admissions for these courses are based on both merit and entrance tests. The campus is made up of 494 hectares of land and an off-campus area of 1,793 hectares. For its great contributions to raising food production, animal and poultry output in the state, and ushering in an era of Green Revolution in India, PAU Ludhiana was named the Best Agricultural University in India in 1995.

PAU Ludhiana offers courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Each programme offers a choice of specialisations that candidates can choose from. The most well-liked programmes include the B.Sc (Hons), B.Tech, MBA, M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc, PhD, and Diploma programmes. Punjab Agricultural University admission is based on merit and performance on the entrance exam. Students can apply offline or online for the university's courses. The following national-level entry exams are accepted: JEE Main, AAT, DAT, etc. Additionally, the university offers its own entrance exams, including the CET and MET. Candidates must take the PAU written exam and then go through an interview to be considered for the Punjab Agricultural University PhD admission process.

Both online and offline applications are accepted for the Punjab Agricultural University admission process. Below are the steps for both:

Online Application Process

• Visit the official website (pau.edu) or the PAU Ludhiana admission portal.
• Fill out the Punjab Agricultural University application form and pay the application fee of Rs 5,320 through credit/ debit card, net banking or Challan.
• Take a hard copy of the properly completed form and submit it to the address with the transaction statement attached: The Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana- 141004.
• Download the Punjab National Bank challan form if you plan to make a payment via challan. Send the printed application form and the university copy of the challan to the PAU address.

Offline Application Process

• Prospectus and application forms are available in person from the counter of The Additional Director of Communication, Centre for Communication and International Linkages, PAU Ludhiana-141 004, for Rs 2,120 in cash.
• The PAU Ludhiana application form can also be obtained via post by sending a demand draft (DD) of Rs 3,820 in favour of ‘Additional Director of Communication’, payable at Ludhiana.

After completing the PAU Ludhiana admission procedure, candidates will proceed to the selection process which will include a written test, interview sessions and counselling. Once the entrance exam marks are released the selection process will begin. Every course has different admission criteria that have to be fulfilled for securing a seat at this university. 

PAU Ludhiana UG Selection Process

• For admission to B.Sc (Hons) courses except for B.Sc (architecture/ fashion designing), PAU conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) followed by counselling.
• For B.Tech Agricultural Engineering, JEE Main is mandatory.
• Other B.Tech courses and integrated course admissions are based on the CET scores.
• For B.Sc Fashion Designing,  Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by NID is accepted.
• For the B.Sc Architecture programme, the national-level Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) is accepted. 

PAU Ludhiana PG Selection Process

• For M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Sc and MJMC courses, PAU Ludhiana conducts MET which is followed by an interview.

PAU Ludhiana PhD (Doctoral) Selection Process

• PhD admission is based PAU written test and interview round. Candidates who are ICAR-qualified are directly eligible for the interview round.
• Candidates must score an 80% in the entrance exam (60% MCQ + 20% Subjective)
• The masters’ research by thesis and quality of thesis must make 10%.
• Candidates' interview weightage should be 10% as well.
