AIC Raise Foundation Announces NSIIR for Institutions that Support UN Sustainable Development Goals

The AIC Raise Foundation, supported by the NITI Aayog government of India and the Atal Innovation Mission, and a listed member of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN), has announced the National Sustainability Impact Institutions Ranking (NSIIR). This recognition aims to honour educational institutions that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by fostering a sustainable culture on their campuses, incorporating it into their curriculum, and integrating it into their daily operations. All eligible universities and institutions can register now at aicraise.com/nsiir/. The last date to register is September 29, 2023.

Eligible Universities and Institutions

Eligible institutions include universities, arts and science colleges, research institutions, engineering colleges, agricultural colleges, management schools, pharmacy colleges, medical and dental colleges, law schools, polytechnic institutes, and architecture colleges. These institutions should be passionate about the UN SDGs and actively engaged in sustainability initiatives that demonstrate measurable impact, innovation, and creativity. They should also have a strong focus on documentation and evidence, collaboration, and partnerships.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Incorporation of SDGs into Curriculum
  • Student Involvement and Empowerment
  • Innovation and Research
  • Campus Operations and Infrastructure
  • Community Engagement and Outreach
  • Partnerships and Collaboration
  • Tracking and Reporting
  • Institutional Leadership

Selection Process

The selection process involves:

  • The submission of application form
  • Evaluation and review phase
  • Selection, recognition, and showcasing of successful institutions

Applicants are urged to review the guidelines thoroughly and provide all necessary information accurately and comprehensively in the application form, which is divided into eight sections.

Scoring Criteria

  • The total score of an institution for a particular year is determined by combining its score in SDG 17 with its top three scores from the remaining 16 SDGs.
  • Each SDG score is scaled in such a way that the highest score in each SDG is 100 and the lowest is 0. This scaling is done to account for slight variations in the scoring range of each SDG and to ensure fairness for all institutions, regardless of which SDGs they have submitted data for. These scaled scores are used to identify the SDGs in which a university has shown the strongest performance; these may not necessarily be the SDGs where the university has the highest rank or the highest unscaled scores.
  • SDG 17 contributes to 22% of the total score, while each of the other SDGs carries a weight of 26%. This implies that different institutions are evaluated based on a unique set of SDGs, depending on their specific focus. The overall ranking score is calculated as an average of the institution's total scores from the previous two years.

Dear student,

Yes, you will likely be able to get a seat in a B.Tech program at SRM University with 58% marks in the qualifying exam and 1-2k rank in the SRMJEEE 2025 exam. Generally, the closing SRMJEEE 2025 cutoff for admission to B.Tech courses via the SRMJEEE 2025 exam varies from 9000 to 15000. Additionally, as per the eligibility criteria, you are required to have a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam. Therefore, there is a good chance that you will be able to get selected for one of the SRM University campuses.

Dear Student,

Generally, the cutoff rank for B.Tech Mechatronics goes up to 42000 in SRMJEEE exam. However, to ensure admission to the main SRM KTR Chennai campus, a rank of 37000 may not be enough for such competitive engineering programmes. We suggest you try out other SRM campuses and list of courses for SRMJEEE rank 20000 to 40000 during the counselling sessions to ensure admission. You may also explore admission through Management quota. We hope this information was helpful to you. Good luck!
