Tamil Nadu has a total of 968 engineering colleges. Among these, 621 colleges offer BTech courses and 473 colleges offer MTech courses. Among the BTech colleges, 553 colleges are private, while 63 are government owned. As per the selection criteria, admission to the tier 2 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu for B.Tech course is conducted through various exams such as the JEE Main, TNEA, CUET etc. while GATE and CUET PG exams are considered for M.Tech courses. Some of the engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu also consider direct admission based on the student’s Class 12 scores. TG POLYCET 2026 Results: The TG POLYCET 2026 examination concluded successfully today, on May 13, in several test centres across Telangana, and now students are awaiting the announcement of results. The entrance test for access into diploma programmes in government, aided, and private polytechnic colleges across the state is conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET). 

TG EAMCET 2026: The aspirants who are aiming to take admission in colleges of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, through TG EAMCET 2026 are calculating their chances for getting admission using the mark and rank estimation process. As per the estimated TG EAMCET 2026 rank list, the aspirants who score 120 marks can have a rank around 1400 for the Engineering stream and 1,450 for the Agriculture and Pharmacy streams.

Students who have received valid scores in GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to take part in the CCMT 2026 counselling process for admission to various NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and other institutions.
