Government Sivagangai Medical College was started in the year 2012-13 in the Sivagangai District with an annual intake of 100 students for MBBS Course.The college was approved by MCI India and it is affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University. The students are trained by dedicated and well-qualified teachers. The College and Hospital has a serene and peaceful atmosphere and good accessibility. The motto is to strive hard to bring out the best capability in each and every student in both academic and extracurricular career and to excel among all Medical Colleges. This Medical College has adequate building infrastructures including Hospital facilities which would help the students for their academic career. Government Sivagangai Medical College, Sivagangai was started on 1st March 2012, where students are selected by merit by the Government.. The College is recognized by the Medical Council Of India.and it is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai. This institution is located at Vaniyangudi village, Manamadurai road, about 4kms from the main town on the route to Manamadurai. This is situated in a land of 30 acres and was built at a cost of 114 crores. First Batch of 100 MBBS Students were admitted in August 2012. The Hospital houses a 500 bedded ward to treat in-patients and it accomodates all the Broad speciality departments, Pre and para Clinical departments as per MCI norms.

The college has well equipped Blood Bank which serves to Patients. SERVICES: Regular Blood donation Camps are conducted for Blood Collection from Voluntary donors. 3 camps are done per week and blood is collected about 50-60 bags and stored in a hygienic manner with the good storage facility. Recently a seminar was conducted and awareness of Blood donation to the public was educated.
