49 LPU Faculty Among World’s Top 2% Scientists49 LPU faculty ranked in the world’s top 2% scientists list by Stanford: India’s research landscape has received strong global recognition as 49 faculty members from Lovely Professional University (LPU) have been named among the world’s top 2% scientists in the Stanford University–Elsevier global ranking. Notably, eight of them secured positions within the top 20 scientists in India across their respective fields — a remarkable leap from last year’s tally of 34 faculty members on the list.
The Stanford–Elsevier rankings are based on standardized citation indicators, H-index, and research impact, recognizing scientists who have made influential contributions to their disciplines.
49 LPU faculty ranked in the world’s top 2% scientists list by Stanford: Key Highlights
Eight among the faculty members of LPU were able to get India’s top 20 ranks in different fields, evidencing the formidable presence of LPU in all possible streams., including:
- 1st in Neurology & Neurosurgery
- 2nd in Food Science
- 5th in Education
- 13th in Dairy & Animal Science and Legal & Forensic Medicine
- 16th & 19th in Optoelectronics & Photonics
- 18th in Materials Science
Faculty represent 21 diverse research domains, with major clusters in:
- Pharmacology & Pharmacy (7 faculty)
- Optoelectronics & Photonics (6 faculty)
- Artificial Intelligence & Image Processing (5 faculty)
- Plant Biology & Botany (5 faculty)
- Other areas include biotechnology, chemical physics, education, forensic medicine, microbiology, organic chemistry, particle physics, and environmental sciences.
