On Saturday 10th December 2016, Dr. James Abdey, Professor of Statistics and Market Research Methods at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), conducted an extensive 4-hour training workshop for ISBF faculty members.
In this session, Dr. Abdey touched upon several key themes - best practices follow ed at LSE for student engagement, the extensive use of simple real-world examples to illustrate theoretical concepts, examination grading schemes and philosophy, exam-writing tips and strategies to share with students, and a discussion on new courses and programmes to be introduced at LSE.
Taking place a day after Dr. Abdey lectured to ISBF students on their Statistics course, the session continued the rich tradition of faculty training conducted by LSE staff here at ISBF for the past several years. It served not only to inspire the faculty members and to reinvigorate them, but also left them with some unique and extremely useful insights into the LSE examiner's thought process. We thank Dr. Abdey, and look forward to continuing in future this happy custom of lectures by LSE faculty members!
