The Indian Summer! A three day long FIIB-Walton College Acculturation Program 2016 was held from the 21st May to 23rd May 2016. Students from the Sam M. Walton College of Business visited FIIB campus.

They also visited a few other places in Delhi, Agra, Bangalore, Jaipur and Mumbai under their India Study Abroad Program 2016, which aims to provide students with the opportunity to explore and identify trends in the economic, business, political, and cultural environments in India, while gaining a better understanding of the economic relationship between the U.S. and India.

The participants had opportunities to visit Indian families, and interact with Indian businesses and business leaders. During their Delhi visit, the participants also visited the National Museum, Hauz Khas Village, ISKCON temple, and many other places. The study group of 28 participants was lead by Dr. Vikas Anand, currently serving as the Faculty Director of the Walton College MBA Programs and the Interim Executive. He has a Ph.D. from Arizona State University and an MBA in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade to his credit.

The three-day program included various activities. Day 1 started with a spectacular and arresting Bharatnatyam performance by Ms. Jyotsana Shourie’s disciple Ms. Nandita, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of India.

Participants also shared a few light moments with the performers. Later, a literally healthy discussion and lecture took place by Mr. Prashant Tandon – Co-founder 1mg, who focused on India’s changing approach towards the medical health industry. The evening was again power packed with a cricket match and a cultural and interactive performance by the FIIB students.

Day 2 was dedicated to various learning activities which included participant’s visits to the city to better understand the basics of business. Followed by the certificate distribution. Day 3 was concluded with Mr. Manish Khetrepal, Chairman- FIIB, lecturing on Venture Capital and interacting with the participants. A long round of question and answers took place as the Sam Walton students sought answers to their questions related to the topic.

It was a wonderful experience for the participants of the FIIB-Walton College Acculturation Program 2016 learning, working and culturally growing together during the three-days, power packed program at the FIIB campus.
