Himachal CM Confirms Setting Up of 100 CBSE Board Schools in the State; Major reforms announcedHP to set up 100 CBSE-pattern govt schools from next academic year: The Himachal Pradesh government has taken a significant step towards bringing reforms in school education across the State. 100 government senior secondary schools in the State will adopt the CBSE pattern from the forthcoming academic session, said the Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu . This scheme is intended to standardize the learning level of students in government schools with the private and national level schools. Every assembly in Himachal would be provided with one such CBSE school to ensure quality education up to every nook and cranny of the state.
These new or transformed institutions will be developed as modern-day boarding schools having smart classrooms, science and computer laboratories, sports grounds, and mess facilities. Students will receive nutritious meals and wear newly designed uniforms, differentiated with colours for easy identification. The aim is to create a vibrant with student-friendly learning environment that emphasises practical knowledge and holistic growth.

In order to strengthen the educational system, the government would create a separate teacher cadre for these CBSE schools. Selection will be on merit, and teachers who perform well will be rewarded so as to motivate them to adopt innovative and effective methods of teaching. Well-trained and motivated teachers are critical to raising the standards of education.
The CBSE pattern will enable students to be more prepared for national-level competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and CUET , improving their chances of getting admissions in the best universities. It would also expose students from remote areas to national-level academic frameworks and skill-based learning.
The government will also be upgrading school infrastructure and recruiting teachers. The overall objective is to promote all-round development with special emphasis on academics, sports, arts, and life skills. With these initiatives, the State of Himachal Pradesh aspires to establish a modern, progressive, and future-ready education system that empowers each student to achieve success.
