Himachal Pradesh has been experiencing heavy rainfall over the past few days, with sudden flash floods due to cloud bursts and waterlogging. The state has experienced major infrastructure damage, with roads blocked or washed away, bridges washed away, and houses collapsing due to landslides. As per reports, the weather will be the same with gradual improvement from September 3. • According to recent reports, Himachal Pradesh schools are likely to observe a holiday on 2 September 2025 in Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Shimla, with Kullu having already announced a holiday.
• Schools have been declared a holiday as of September 1 in 10 districts: Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Kangra, Mandi, Chamba, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, and Kullu subdivisions.
• Mandi, Kangra, and Sirmaur are under Red Alert for September 2, while other districts are under orange alert across the state.
