- The highest package received by the institute so far is Rs. 28.16 lakh per annum.

With all the IITs getting a higher number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) in 2017 as compared to that in 2016, the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee expects to receive close to 130 pre-placement offers by the end of November 2017.
So far, IIT Roorkee has recorded the second highest number of pre-placement offers among the 7 old IITs in 2017. The institute has received offers from 23 top-notch companies that recruited students from different trades before the commencement of placement season in December.
IIT Roorkee has received 92 pre-placement offers and 82 of them have been accepted by the students. Lucrative offers were rolled out at the campus with highest pre-placement package touching Rs. 28.16 lakh per annum.
Some of the recruiters that participated in the pre-placements are Adobe Research Labs, Reliance Industries Limited, JSW Steel Ltd, Samsung R&D Institute India, Wipro Limited and Oyo Rooms.

Professor-in-Charge for the Training and Placement at IIT Roorkee, Professor N P Padhy said that this year’s pre-placement season has been very promising and has encouraged students to do well in the placements to come.
He further added that companies are expected to visit campus for pre-placement offers till November 2017 and IIT Roorkee is looking forward to getting up to 130 pre-placement offers. The institute is also expecting better placements this year in December.

IIT Kharagpur has received the highest number of pre-placement offers among all IITs. The institute got 118 pre-placement offers with companies like Microsoft, Samsung, Qualcomm and Wipro hiring the maximum number of students.
