This three-hour examination evaluates students' proficiency in core subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The second shift comprises 75 questions, evenly distributed across the three subjects, with a total of 300 marks. All questions are in multiple-choice format, and the exam is conducted online. Following the conclusion of the exam, a comprehensive review of the paper will be provided, enabling candidates to gauge the paper's difficulty level and make informed predictions about upcoming shifts and papers.

JEE Main 2025 April 2 Shift 2 Exam Analysis: Subject-wise students' feedback
Here are the major highlights of the first reaction of test takers who appeared in Day 1 Shift 2 April 2025 examination to help test takers appearing on subsequent days have an idea of the level of the paper.
- Aspirants have reported that the question paper was moderate level of difficulty, however, in comparison to January session, most students have reported Session 2 as easier.
- Physics section was easy to moderate as per the students, and in the paper in comparison to previous session, it was easier.
- Mathematics section included more of conceptual questions and less of calculative questions. Session 2 mathematics is reported as easier as compared to Session 1 by students who have attempted both sessions.
- Chemistry was easy to moderate, as per most students. Some tricky and time-consuming questions were included requiring more calculations. More questions were asked from Physical Chemistry and least from Organic Chemistry.
