The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Main 2026 exam in two sessions: Session 1 in January 2026 and Session 2 in April 2026.
To be eligible for JEE Main 2026, candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board. There is no age restriction for taking the exam. Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in their Class 12 or equivalent examination.

The JEE Main 2026 registration fees vary based on the candidate's category and gender. For the general category, male candidates appearing in India are required to pay Rs 1,000, while female candidates pay Rs 800. For candidates appearing outside India, the fees are Rs 5,000 for males and Rs 4,000 for females. The EWS/OBC-NCL category has a slightly lower fee structure, with male candidates paying Rs 900 and female candidates paying Rs 800 for exams in India, and Rs 4,500 for males and Rs 4,000 for females for exams outside India. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category are required to pay Rs 500 for exams in India and Rs 2,500 for exams outside India.
The JEE Main 2026 application form will require candidates to provide personal and academic details, upload required documents, and pay the registration fee online. The documents required for registration include a scanned passport-size photograph, signature, Class 10 or equivalent certificate, identity proof, and PwD/UDID certificate.
