DMK, an opposition party in Tamil Nadu criticised the central government and its policies against social justice. The policies of the centre have shattered the dreams of medical aspirants in Tamil Nadu. Mr. M K Stalin, Leader of Opposition and Working President of DMK Party pointed that the government must uphold social justice by ensuring reservation for the specific communities. Students from a simple background will get access to professional education and graduate as engineers and doctors if the centre upholds social justice, he indicated.
Mr. M K Stalin further clarified that social justice was at stake due to the implementation of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. He pointed that the legislations or bills passed by the AIADMK government are still under review and are waiting for the President’s nod. The centre's policy over the NEET issue in Tamil Nadu is not fair and possible steps must be taken to ensure justice for medical aspirants of the state, he added.

Recently, a delegation of ministers from Tamil Nadu met the Prime Minister of India and sought clarification over the NEET issue. They urged the centre to resolve the issue soon. The centre is yet to take a call on the issue. If the President of India approves the legislations adopted by Tamil Nadu state assembly, the UG medical admissions in the state will be based on Class 12 marks.
