FAIMA, through its official Twitter account, announced that peaceful protests will be held on February 7, 2023, at Jantar Mantar seeking NEET PG 2023 postponement. The permission for the same has been granted by the Delhi police and has recommended FAIMA to keep the number of protestors under 100 people.

This advancement comes afterDr. Manish Jangra, the founder of FAIMA, posted a tweet that he tried meeting the health minister of India on February 2nd but the attempt was unsuccessful as the official was busy. This pushed FAIMA to take things ahead by flooding Twitter with #PostponeNEETPG2023 tag and requesting permission for peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar. What's in store for the students over the NEET PG 2023 postponement is right now unclear and dependent on several factors. Meanwhile, Students have been advised to not stop their studies at any cost. They need to revise and prepare for NEET PG 2023 exam until a new delay has been around the same.

NEET PG 2023 Postponement

Earlier, the founder of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) met the officials from the Health Ministry (except the Health minister of India) in person on January 31, 2023, to request for the NEET PG 2023 postponement, according to FAIMA's Twitter account. Dr. Manish Jangra, Founder of FAIMA, who met with the Ministry's official, has said that he is trying his best to convince them to revise the exam date.He also said that the major hurdle, in this case, is that the online exam company, TCS, has refused to provide any new NEET PG 2023 exam date until the month of September 2023. Meanwhile, students are demanding a delay in NEET PG exams for at least 2 months.

NEET PG 2023 Postponement

Considering the revised eligibility criteria for the NEET PG exam, already the MBBS candidates, their parents, and the senior doctors have raised their voices regarding the exam's date to be postponed. This year, NEET PG 2023 exam is scheduled to be conducted on March 5, 2023. Candidates all over India are feeling uncertain about the outcome of the NEET PG 2023 postponement request. Some believe the NEET PG 2023 exam date will be changed while others are skeptical and worried the result will not be in their favor. Senior medical professionals and experts, through their official Twitter accounts, have suggested graduates to continue studying and preparing for the test whatever the outcome might be and however long it takes.

Previously, the FAIMA already wrote a letter to the Union Health Minister urging for the postponement of the NEET PG exam 2023 and re-considering the internship eligibility of the aspirants. As per the official notice, Telangana is the last state, which will start the Internship on August 11, 2023. Hence, the MBBS students of that state are not eligible to appear for the NEET PG 2023 exam since they will not be able to complete their one-year internship before the exam date. Approximately 10,000 students of Telangana are going to appear for the NEET PG exam in 2023. This is the reason why these 10,000 students are demanding an extension of eligibility.

The association further questions that due to the NEET PG 2022 stray counselling round on January 10, 2023, a number of candidates would not have enough time for the NEET PG 2023 exam preparation. Apart from FAIMA, the other associations, the United Doctors Front Association (UDFA), Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA), and Indian Medical Association (IMA) wrote letters to the minister for NEET PG 2023 postponement, due to the insufficient time gap for preparing for the exam between the NEET PG 2023 exam and counselling process.

Considering the situations in the past, NBEMS has postponed the NEET PG exam and also extended the internship eligibility, after urging the request to the Union health minister. For reference, NEET PG 2021 exam date was successfully delayed from April 15 to September 11, 2021. Thus, students are positive that the association will take the right steps and get the desired result for NEET PG 2023 postponement. Along with the associations, lakhs of students and their parents have raised their voices on Twitter for the NEET PG 2023 postponement.
