Railway Recruitment 24-2025; Registrations are underway, Over 1.2 lakh railway vacanciesRailway Recruitment 2025 : Indian Railways has launched a massive recruitment drive to fill over 1.2 lakh vacancies, 1,20,579 to be exact, under the 2024 and 2025 calendars. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the vacancies in the Lok Sabha, where he highlighted the organization's efforts to strengthen its workforce. The vacancies have arisen due to the organization's vast workforce, ongoing technological upgrades, and operational expansion.
The recruitment process is ongoing through Centralised Employment Notifications issued by Railway Recruitment Boards. In 2024, 10 major CENs were issued, covering 92,116 vacancies, while recruitment for 28,463 posts under the 2025 calendar has already commenced. This drive is one of the largest public-sector hiring exercises in the country, showcasing the Indian Railways' commitment to enhancing its workforce.
The ministry has ensured that manpower planning aligns with operational requirements, mechanisation, and innovation across railway zones. The recruitment covers various positions, including Assistant Loco Pilots, Technicians, Junior Engineers, and paramedical staff. Notably, 59,678 posts have already been filled under various stages of the recruitment process, demonstrating the organization's efforts to expedite hiring.
