The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences plans to grant permanent affiliations to colleges under it on the basic parameters of infrastructure, equipment, faculty strength, ragging free campus etc.

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru now plans to grant permanent affiliations to the Karnataka medical colleges under it. The University considered the infrastructure, medical equipment and ragging-free campus to be the top criteria for granting permanent affiliation.
Apart from that, the university officials have worked hard to shortlist the criteria required for a college to be awarded permanent affiliation by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Officials informed that the draft notification which has been prepared will be announced eligible for applications in the next syndicate meeting. The Vice-Chancellor of RGUHS, S. Sachidanand has informed the media that the permanent affiliation is not synonymous to a lifelong affiliation. The maximum validity of the affiliation will be 5 years and it will start from 3 years. He also informed that the criterion and draft notification have been made ready and to announce this, the university needs approval from the syndicate. Still, colleges can apply for permanent affiliation and the University will start the evaluation process.
He also informed that the affiliation will be granted after evaluating the eligibility of them and where their infrastructure stands. There will be surprise-visits to the college and inspection procedure to grant affiliation to them.
