Harsh Gupta of the Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, has secured the first position (All-India) in GATE Chemical Engineering. Results of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 were announced on Sunday, March 26, 2017.
The results have uplifted the spirits of Harsh who scored 999 out of 1,000 in the exam. Harsh is currently in the final year of the B.Tech programme at MNIT. He is still undecided as to what he wants to do after graduating.

With a score as high as this, Harsh has various options laid out in front of him. The young achiever said that he will consult with his teachers and seniors to decide whether he should pursue M.Tech at either of the IITs or join a reputed PSU.

22-year-old Harsh is the son of a statistician and his father teaches at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He did his schooling from the Jaipuria Vidyalaya. His family is elated with his success and is looking forward to Harsh’s bright success.
Talking about his plans, Harsh said that he might choose to work at a PSU and apply for masters at abroad universities. Although he expected a good score, Harsh had not thought that he will top the exam in his branch.

Professors of MNIT are also proud of their student’s success and reported that it is a first time that a student from the institute has secured all-India first rank in GATE.
