Tamil Nadu School Holiday Update 29 November 2025: Tamil Nadu is getting a burst of heavy northeast‑monsoon rain. Only the Rameswaram district has a holiday today , but officials warn that more schools may shut tomorrow, especially in the districts marked red alert. The India Meteorological Department says heavy to very heavy rain will hit many places, with extremely heavy downpours expected in the state. Because of this widespread rain, schools in the red‑alert zones, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Puducherry, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Karaikal, Thiruvarur, and Nagapattinam are likely to be closed. Parents should keep an eye on official announcements and keep children at home when travel becomes unsafe.
