Kerala University Admissions 2023

Kerala University admissions are done both on the basis of entrance exams as well as on the basis of merit. Admissions at Kerala University for the available courses are done under the choice-based credit and semester (CBCS) system. A rank list is prepared thereafter based on which seats are allotted. There is no centralised allotment for management quota. Candidates should contact the colleges to take admission and submit the printout of the application form to the respective colleges. The registration for the same will start after the registration for online centralised admission closes. The Kerala University CSS admission to CSS (Credit and Semester System) courses i.e. PG courses like M.Tech, MBA, M.Phil, M.Sc, MA, MSW and others offered at Kerala University is done on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance test.

Kerala University Application Process 2023

  • Candidates applying for Kerala University admission need to register online by visiting admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in. Candidates must read the instructions carefully before proceeding with the registration and must not press the “back” button during the process of registration.
  • Candidates then need to generate their application number and password by providing details like exam board, register number, year of passing, name, date of birth, gender and email id. 
  • They will then receive a unique application number and password. Initially, the date of birth will be the default password in the format dd/mm/yyyy which must be changed at the end of the registration process.
  • Candidate must log in with the application number and password generated to complete the University of Kerala registration process. The Kerala University registration process is explained below.

Kerala University Online Centralised Allotment Process 2023

  • Step 1: Trial allotment allows the candidate to analyse the chances of admission at University of Kerala. Candidate must note that trial allotment does not guarantee admission. This allotment takes place after the registration process is complete.
  • Step 2: After the trial allotment is released and the candidates revised their options, the first allotment will be published on the Kerala University official website. Shortlisted candidates need to compulsorily pay the university fee at this stage to confirm their admission.
  • Step 3: Candidates must pay the Kerala University admission fee only through the online portal available on the allotment page of the official website. A copy of the same should be kept by the student for future reference.
  • Step 4: Candidates after paying the fee need to cancel all the options if satisfied with the one allotted. Those who want to consider other options can cancel or activate them only within the “allotted” list. No new college can be added at this stage.
  • Step 5: The second allotment will be the same as that of the first allotment process.
  • Step 6: After the second allotment, candidates need to log in to their homepage using their Kerala University application number and password for downloading the memo. The allotment memo has to be produced before the principal at the time of admission. It will contain the candidate’s personal details, the college, the programme to which the candidate is allotted and the date of reporting to the college for taking admission. Keep a copy of the same as well.
  • Step 7: Post Allotment Activities:
    • Reporting to the college
    • Payment of respective college admission fee
    • Document verification
    • Cancellation of higher options after joining a college
  • Step 8: Candidates during the allotment need to pay the Kerala university fee, cancel the higher options, download the allotment memo, pay the college fees and get their documents verified.
  • Step 9: Candidates are given temporary admission during the second allotment. They will get an extended time to pay the University of Kerala fees. The fees must be cleared before the next allotment list is released.

  • Course Cancellation memo from the university last attended.
  • Certificates from the village officer namely “The applicant belonging to Anthyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority House Hold (PHH) category” or “The income or assets certificate for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) in General Category” for candidates under EWS category.
  • Caste/Community Certificate for candidates under Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes quota.
  • Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in the case of SEBC candidates, OEC candidates claiming vacant SC/ST seats.
  • Certificate in the case of OEC candidates claiming fee concession.
  • Community Certificate and Income Certificate in the case of candidates eligible for OEC educational assistance
  • Original Marksheet. 
  • Eligibility Certificate from the University of Kerala in case of candidates who have passed qualifying examination other than HSE/ VHSE conducted by the Government of Kerala or the examination conducted by CBSE (AISSCE) and ISCE.
  • Transgender identity card issued by the State Government, if applicable.
  • Undertaking from the students as per the provisions of the anti-ragging verdict by the Supreme Court of India.
  • Any other relevant certificate for any claim made in the application.

Kerala University UG Admission Process 2023

Kerala University UG admissions to first-degree programmes under CBCS system and career-related first degree programmes in government/aided/ self financing affiliated colleges and centers of the university are done either on the basis of merit or on the basis of entrance exams or assessment tests. Admissions offered to first-degree programmes under CBCS system at Kerala University to the affiliated arts and science colleges are done on the basis of online centralised allotment.

What is Online Centralised Allotment?

The Kerala University online centralised allotment offers candidates the opportunity to gain admission to any of the university's colleges/centers and to any of the programmes of their choice based on merit. The university will not conduct online centralised allotment for the following first-degree programmes/courses. All programmes for which entrance test and aptitude tests are conducted for admission, like BFA, BPEd, BA Music & BPA programme

University of Kerala admissions are done either through online centralised allotment or by applying directly to the colleges concerned. Candidates need to fill the eligibility criteria first and foremost. The marks obtained at 10+2 are the basic criteria for admission to the first-degree programmes (FDPs) under the centralised allotment system.

  • Any candidate who wishes to take admission to University of Kerala for the first-degree programme must register online before the registration deadline.

Admission without the centralised allotment:

For admission to Kerala University courses on the basis of entrance exam/aptitude test candidates must also register online before the closure of registration. Following registration, the printout of the Kerala University application form must be submitted directly to the respective colleges. Students will be chosen based on an aptitude test administered at the college level or an entrance exam administered at the state/national level. Candidates who pass the entrance examination and wish to take admission to Kerala University in the current academic year will be able to register online once the results are published. They will be taken into account in subsequent allotments.

Kerala University PG admissions are offered on the basis of grade/marks obtained in the qualifying examination except for courses like MBA, MCA, MAHRM, MPE, MSW, MFA, MTTM and MASLP. Kerala University M.Tech Admission Process 2023

Candidates who have applied, appeared and qualified for GATE 2023 are eligible for direct Kerala University M.Tech admission. The candidate needs to follow the registration process as well as the University of Kerala application process. Only the candidate needs to attach their GATE score card while filling out the Kerala University M.Tech application form and submitting the same at the time of document verification.

  • Interested candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria set for Kerala University M.Tech admission.
  • Candidates need to visit the GOAPS portal and register themselves for GATE 2023 entrance exam with the necessary information.
  • After the registration is done, candidates need to fill up the GATE 2023 application form, attach the documents, and upload a recent photo and signature.
  • Pay the GATE 2023 registration fee of Rs 850 for female/ SC / ST / PwD category candidates and Rs 1700 for others.

Kerala University CSS Admission 2023

Kerala University CSS admission to M.Sc, M.Tech, MBA, MSW, LLM, M.Ed (Education), M.Com, M.L.I.Sc courses are offered on the basis of entrance exams. Candidate must meet the eligibility criteria prior to admission. Kerala University CSS Admission Process 2023

  • Candidates must visit the official website of Kerala University i.e. admissions.keralauniversity.ac.in. A candidate can apply for a maximum of three courses through a single registration.
  • Candidates must keep a copy of their registration form along with the submitted documents, Candidates must submit the same to the respective departments at the time of admission.
  • They then, need to pay the Kerala University registration fee which is to be paid in online mode only.
