Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya or Bilaspur University is a public state university and the second-largest university of Chhattisgarh. It was established in 2012 through a gazette notification. There are approximately 162 Govt. and private colleges affiliated across five districts of Chhattisgarh. The university offers a plethora of UG, PG, PhD, integrated courses, certificate courses, diploma in different streams such as arts, commerce, engineering, science, law, and education. Bilaspur University campus has been granted 68 acres of land which is 10 km from Bilaspur city. 

The 250+ Bilaspur University courses are offered through its five university teaching departments (UTD) and affiliated colleges. It is also one of the first universities in Chhattisgarh to introduce a choice-based credit system (CBCS).
