Gujarat University is a public state university established in the year 1949. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bar Council of India (BCI) and Medical Council of India (MCI). In the year 2015, Gujarat University was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B++ grade. Gujarat University has been ranked 61 in the university category and 85th in the overall category of the NIRF Ranking List 2023. The ranking has a downfall as compared to 2022. Gujarat University Scholarships
The university aims to educate students belonging to the lower backward class or SC/ST by providing scholarships for financial support. There are 30 Gujarat University scholarship programmes that are offered by the Government of Gujarat.
