CUNY Medgar Evers College is one of the public colleges in New York City. It was established in 1970 between the cooperation between educators and the community leaders in central Brooklyn. Medgar Evers College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, the Council on Social Work Education, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Medgar Evers College's ranking in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges among Regional Colleges North is numbered at  #36 - #46 by the US News and World Report ranking system.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The college has been divided into four schools: the School of Business, the School of Professional and Community Development, the School of Science, Health, and Technology and the School of Liberal Arts and Education. The college operates its several external programs and associated centers. Namely, the Male Development and Empowerment Center, the Center for Black Literature, the Center for Women's Development and the DuBois Bunche Center for Public Policy. Medgar Evers College offers baccalaureate degrees and associate degrees in several disciplines.

It is a senior college of The City University of New York, offering baccalaureate and associate degrees. Popular majors include Physical Sciences, Liberal Arts and Humanities, and Business.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

The School is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and a member of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). The School of Business is home to a chapter of Delta Mu Delta international honor society. The College is home to a maximum number of student clubs and organizations, including the ADAFI student newspaper, the National Association of Black Accountants and local student chapters of the American Marketing Association.
The college has graduated over 12,000 alumni which include Carl Andrews, Yvette Clarke, Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant and many more.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

It is a small institution with an enrollment of 6638 undergraduate students. Medgar Evers College has a gender distribution of 30% male students and 70% female students. With nearly 2.7% international students, the college welcomes diversity and is a great place for students coming from different parts of the world. Major employment growth has taken place in healthcare and the STEM industries, growing national and international sectors. Parallel growth is occurring in real estate development, financial services, and in the capacity and recognition of cultural institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.  Some organizations where the alumni work are NYC Health + Hospitals, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, NYU Langone Health, Northwell Health, Starbucks, Macy's, The City University of New York, and Apple.
